Frank's prototype glory hole had some design flaws, not the least of which is that it was difficult to maintain one's balance by standing on a stack of books while ... using it.

Few people realize that the movie: Gravity, was a remake. In the movie, the last surviving astronaut in orbit has to single handedly perform a reentry with unfamiliar spaceships she's not really qualified to operate.
In the original, the only survivor of a toxic gas release in a hearing clinic has to overcome a door locked shut by a stack of 21 books.
But they are hardcover books.
And some of them are really, really big.
