Car plows into counter-protesters at Unite The Right rally

What connection is that?

I doubt if any of the Republicans wear pillow cases and sheets or goose step.
I doubt also that any Democrats go about singing the red flag.

Antifa is what they call themselves. But their name is a misnomer since are very fascist in their tactics. No, they are not equivalent, but they need to go away and stay out of any protest against the right, they are not helping.

The Ultra-Left including Antifa and the Ultra right are essentially the same in mentality.

Republicans at large have been perfectly happy to accept the alt right as the new wave of young republicanism up until a few days ago. The cynic in my thinks that they have ridden this horse as far as they could and not that they can't ride it any further, the only course of action left is to shoot it in the head and keep walking.

Also who is "The ultra-left?" Just anyone whichphilosophy decides? Kinda makes it useless terminology then. Also no, Antifa are nothing like the nazis. They do not pose an existential threat to people's lives the same way nazis do.

I think what the alt-right was able to do successfully, that is - the actual alt-right, the white-supremacists who came up with the word - was convince a lot of people in the mainstream that it was simply an anti-establishment wing of the right. Essentially, anti-establishment sentiment was used as a Trojan Horse for white-nationalist thought.

What racist policies has the current Republican government pushed through. In fact there were a lot of protests to this effect.

As in the UK there is a lot of difference between a right centre/right wing politician and an ultra Right wing one. Similarly there is a lot of difference between a conservative Muslim and a Jihadist.

ANTIFA is also militant. They are not Nazi, just the flip side. They are often involved in violence, hence symbiotically they need the loony right to interact with.

Isn't this just another way of saying that the looney right is the cause of Antifa?

They feed off each other. Actually Antifa was originally formed in response to National Socialism before the war.

You didn't realize I was channeling His Flatulence?

My apologies to you. Somehow I missed seeing the orange wig you were wearing ;)

Well, the last time I tried to use my web cam it didn't work. (Strange how bumping the power switch on a hub can mess up a camera!) I'll excuse your lack of vision.

Daily Stormer’ website sending Nazis to harass funeral of woman allegedly killed by white supremacist in Charlottesville
You know, I think that Nazis protesting my funeral would be a validation of just about every life choice I've ever made...
Like,
1) Choosing not to be a Nazi
2) Interracial marriage
3) Not choosing to be a Nazi
Wrote this up as a letter to the editor. Final copy added
Liberal,
waking up for 20049 days without accidentally turning Nazi during the night
Cheering for Indiana Jones.

My son asked if i actually checked each morning to see if i was a nazi.
I pointed out that NOT NAZI is more of the default state, not a special mode of operation.

The president of the United Fucking States is using false equivalence arguments in defense of Nazis, while countless American conservatives on the Internet are yelling and crying and gnashing their teeth over how angry they are at people who opposed Nazis.
Trump is keeping people busy, on about every side, pointing out the "obvious," and also making them all feel like champions.

Well, he apparently alienated anyone left over by spewing more verbal vomit this afternoon

My new and only name for him: Loser

I can't think of anything else that would enrage him worse.
Not even close to a year in, and Trump pretty much squandered the rest of his limited political capital defending Neo Nazis. Oh, I'm sorry, he didn't defend them... he just said people protesting against Neo Nazis and the Clan were just as bad. The Republican Party might be sitting around at this point asking why they didn't just take a dive in '16.

Meanwhile the Republicans may be waiting for Mueller to report Trump had a hang nail in '94 to impeach.
This sentiment was endlessly decried throughout the campaign.

That is actually demonstrating my point for your fence approval.
Then I guess I do not understand your view of the word "fence."
That was apparent.
Again, still merely a claim.

You can't use the "both sides are just as bad" argument when one side includes literal fucking Nazis.

Even if the lies you tell about antifa are all true, that doesn't change the fact that you sided with Nazis.

It doesn't matter that you are lying about antifa.

It doesn't matter that you are using a tu quoque fallacy.

What matters is that you are using a tu quoque fallacy to defend literal Nazis. Even if we ignore the logical fallacy at the base of your argument, unless antifa is planning to commit genocide, your flaccid argument failed. It doesn't matter that you lied. It doesn't matter that you used a logical fallacy. What matters is that you argued in defense of Nazis. You made an argument that attempts to make Nazis sound less bad.

Holy fuck, but you can't really believe I am this stupid, can you? You watched the same video footage that I did. You saw the same Nazi salutes. You saw the same Nazi flags. You heard the same Nazi slogans chanted. You watched the same Nazi terrorist drive a car at high speed into a crowd of protesters, and your first instinct is to argue against the people who were there to oppose actual, literal fucking Nazis.

The most charitable thing that can be said about you is that you are a Nazi sympathizer instead of an actual Nazi. That is the nicest thing that can possibly be said about the argument that you just made.

Is it true there might have been paid protesters there?

Even if it is true (and I think we all know this is just the usual lies from the right), so what?

The president of the United States argued in defense of people he believed to be Nazis.

Millions of rightists are right now arguing in defense of people they believe to be Nazis.

So even if your fatuous conspiracy theory were true, that doesn't change the fact that conservatives are at best Nazi sympathizers, and the whole world knows it.

I have to agree with the "who cares" argument about the source. Even if every one of the protesters was a paid shill who was only there on a salary to make the Nazis look bad, it doesn't change the fact that the other side were fucking Nazis.

There's really not a second element of the discussion.

I'm really trying to imagine the thought process where ANYONE sits around a table, discussing an upcoming rally, and thinks, 'we should spend money making sure the Nazis look bad.'

Who's going to be the one to bring that point up for discussion? Everyone else at the meeting will snort, look at you, and explain in that 'talking to junior officers' tone of voice: Duuuuuuuuuuuude. They're NAAAAAAAAAAAAZIS.

I didn't say that, I said the opposite.

What lie?

I think the driver peeling off like that is justified.
