Democrats 2020

Why do you think Biden is creepier than Trump?

I can't speak for angelo, nor am I necessarily in agreement with his views. But I will share mine. I find Biden to be *creepier* than Trump, but I find Trump to be *more dangerous* than Biden. That's a bit of a nuanced distinction, so I'll try to elaborate.

Trump's behavior is obvious and well known, and clearly unacceptable. But it's also within the range of "normal bad sexual behavior". That's not saying that it's okay in any way, it's just closer to what most people think of as "expected sexual predator". It's taking advantage of his position to perv out over teenage models, to pressure women, etc. He's clearly a danger to look out for.

Biden's behavior is different. It's overall less dangerous, but it's weird. The hair smelling and handsiness is hard to pin down as being a danger... it's just super uncomfortable and sets off a bit of a "creepy" reaction.

To me, it's the difference between "dangerous and a threat" versus "weird and creepy". I mean, Freddy Kruger is clearly dangerous and a threat... but many people (including me) find clowns to be weird and creepy.

Gender related issues aside, I can't think of many politicians who I don't find creepy on some level. It feels like even staunch progressives like Cortez who I agree with on many issues are still somewhat delusional and with a God complex.

I'm not familiar with many personalities in the U.S., but Obama was the closest thing to a normal, intelligent, empathetic human who also had the ability to hold high office that I think I've seen in my lifetime.

I think the megalomania and narcissism is probably a prerequisite for the job. I don't think a "normal" person could do it. You kind of have to believe you're incredibly awesome and the very bestest in order to think you can run a country. That said... some are most definitely worse than others. And I agree that Obama was pretty good in terms of persona and presences.

Megalomania, narcissism, and in many cases entrenched dogma. All of the people I know in Canada who unambiguously support a specific party, whether politician or member of the electorate, are usually convinced that they have all the answers, but in practice have very few. Everything is always clearly defined black and white.

To our system's credit, each party has enough competition that even the dumbest of our politicians are usually put in their place before doing too much harm.

I wish we had more competition. It's become so painfully partisan that each side keeps getting pushed further and further away from anything reasonable or pragmatic. Eventually, they're going to come full circle at anarchism.

Biden courts Ocasio-Cortez – but will he go bold enough to win her support? | US news | The Guardian - he's established 6 working groups with Bernie Sanders, so she may be waiting for his policy positions to be closer to BS's for her to want to endorse him.
“This pandemic has just exposed us,” Ocasio-Cortez explained on the Daily. “People tell me, ‘I cannot believe I didn’t see this before. I cannot believe I didn’t see this before.’ I’m just thankful that people are seeing it now.”

...
“It’s not just about this boding well for progressives,” she said. “It’s about us having a goddamn planet to live on in 10 years or in 20 years. It’s about making sure that babies don’t get put in a cage again. It’s about making sure that we end the scourge of mass incarceration.”

Good answer, but somehow I think angelo lacks the necessary skills for such a nuanced critique.

I think your visceral feeling could be the prevailing sentiment in November, and could be what ultimately destroys the Noble Experiment.
People would prefer certain destruction to uncertain ... anything. Especially if we're talking uncertain weirdness or uncertain creepiness. Blatant evil is much preferred.

Google "tickles for nickels". It sets off an entire fairly related discussion about what is creepy and inappropriate yet entirely "harmless".

I thought this was an interesting article regarding the changing dynamics for control of the Senate and about various hot spots, as it appears that Repug leaders are starting to sweat about Nov 2020...
https://www.rawstory.com/2020/04/mc...e-senate-as-more-seats-come-into-play-report/
According to a report from Politico, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), as well as other Republican higher-ups, are fearful of losing their Senate majority in the November election with the Democrats about to put forward a strong slate of candidates backed by cash-rich warchests.

As Politico’s James Arkin wrote, “Republicans started this election cycle as heavy favorites to keep their Senate majority, with a lineup of elections mostly in red-tinted states and GOP incumbents favored over a slate of relatively unknown and untested challengers. Now, nearly six months out from the election, Democrats are making them sweat.”

I saw several news stories on how much Mike Bloomberg spent in his failed run for President. One billion dollars seemed rather grossly high. So I decided to track them down to their source, and I found this document on the Federal Election Commission's site:

Form 3P for Mike Bloomberg 2020, Inc.

Table: DETAILED SUMMARY Of Receipts And Disbursements
Row: Total Disbursements
Column: Column B: Election Cycle-To-Date
Value: 1,051,783,859.43
(commas inserted by me)

Yes, MB spent over $1 billion in his run for the Presidency.

I don't know if Biden will get AOC's support or not. I'd just like to see her willing to attack the republicans.

You're right. It doesn't explain it at all. Largely because you weren't in the clip. The question is why *YOU* think Biden is creepier than Trump. For you to answer, it's going to involve you to sack up and put into your own words why that is the case. Laura Ingraham can't answer for you.

So do you have a answer, or are you just going to do another ctrl-c/ctrl-v post?

They say one picture is worth a thousand words. What's changed about that rule? Oh, sorry, I know. It's because a creepy, senile, nearly 80 year old candidate is the best the Dems can do. And even if a Democrat Goofy would be supported as long as it's not the Donald!

What's so fucking hard? Why do you think Biden is creepier than Trump? You appear to be against creepy, senile nearly 80 year old candidates, so what is the difference between Trump and Biden in your opinion? Because you say a lot about Biden's creepiness and yet you say fuck all about the molester in chief. So either you are fucking clueless about US politics or you are not arguing in good faith. Which one is it?

Besides the " creepiness" debate, there's also the difference between a policy of big government and higher taxes to pay for all the " free shit" as espoused by the likes of an AOC and her far left comrade in arms in the Dem party, as compared to lower taxes and smaller government as espoused by the conservatives. In not so many words: Let private entrepise get on with building wealth, and get the government get off the shoulders of business and let them do what they do best. Employ people and create wealth which government doesn't do.

I feel sorry for the person that writes into Talk of the County all the time and refers to our great President Trump as Bone Spur. President Trump lives rent-free in this sick person’s head. Have you discontinued taking your meds? Now that it appears the Democratic race for their candidate has been narrowed down to two geniuses, please share with us which one of these idiots you support. Is it the socialist crazy Bernie, who seems to worship Cuba’s Castro and panders to low information people like you by promising free everything? But, he fails to explain how he plans to pay for any of it. Hold on to your wallet. Or do you support sleepy, creepy and corrupt Joe Biden who can’t remember what state he’s in, what office he’s running for, what day of the week it is or can’t tell the difference between his wife and his sister. This guy belongs either in jail or a nursing home. Please share with us which one of these “fine” candidates you support. Thank you President Trump for all you have done for America, and I’m looking forward to four more years.

Great organization

What is wrong with these Democrats always saying they will, or have taken on the NRA, like the NRA is a terrorist group? The NRA is a great organization whose main goal is to teach gun safety, and wants the politicians and law enforcement to enforce the laws that are already on the books. That is rather than making new laws that the criminals wont abide by, but will put hardship on law-abiding citizens. Anyone against the NRA is against our freedom and/or is very misinformed and needs to read some of the NRA magazines. Maybe I will start putting mine in those library book boxes located around town.

Yes, MB spent over $1 billion in his run for the Presidency.

Which proves that sometimes all the money in the world cannot buy you a Presidency if you're completely incompetent.

You obviously weren't alive during JFK's short stint as POTUS. He was/has been among the best Presidents America has ever had.

So essentially, you're just a bot with a circulatory system. Garbage in, garbage out. No real thoughts or opinions but can copy and paste with the best of them. Good to know.

None of what you spewed answers why you think Biden is creepier than Trump by the way. Do you understand the question? Your sole input in this thread for the last 20+ pages has been how creepy Biden is over Trump in the upcoming election. Why to you think that?

This is from 2015. Creepy joe makes women feel uncomfortable by invading their space, that's besides sniffing their hair and whispering sweet nothings in their ears . He must be really in denial now with distancing rules in place. While Trumps misdemeanors pale in comparison, and in most instances were in jest. Here's a few, like I said, from 2015.

So they want wimpy military and police forces and prison systems, and want everybody to protect themselves rather than depending on governments to do so. That's been tried in Somalia for some decades now, and it was also tried in the antebellum South.

You mean the smaller government people who are all for giving tax breaks, socialist subsidies and grants in borrowed money to the already wealthy?
