Eco-protestors deface Van Gogh

Are these continual comments on the weather of Santa Monica just meant to needle us?
It's a little tongue in cheek jibe at the posters on here (steveb for example) who bang on about their local weather conditions being a sign of the coming climate apocalypse.

Having glorious weather at the moment, had the top down on the car on the way home yesterday. (y)
It comes across as bragging that you have no idea what "climate" means.

Does it indeed?

No one has ever claimed that global warming would result in immediate and permanent flames in the sky of every city.
No one in here? I’m not sure exactly but the coming apocalypse can manifest in many ways even some sort of genocide.

It really is an end of times religion.

The white privileged middle class retirees and unemployable liberal arts students continue their assault on the working classes;

Just Stop Oil activists have attempted to target Trafalgar Square in their latest traffic-stopping eco-protest, only to be quickly moved on by police. The eco-zealots attempted to block traffic around the famous central London monument this afternoon. But they were met with a heavy police presence and quickly removed from the roads. Attempting to revive their flailing protest - the 32nd consecutive day Just Stop Oil have demonstrated - the group instead took to hollering slogans from the pavement - away from their usual target of traffic.
It comes after eco-warriors from the group made a half-hearted attempt to scale the gates of Downing Street today - a day after their month of action officially came to an end. Protesters ran at the gates of the central London street, which is home to the Prime Minister and Chancellor.

Daily Mail

Clearly an assault on democracy, an insurrection if you will. :hysterical:

A catastrophic 60f in Santa Monica today.

60?? Global cooling?

Italy has it's share of privileged unemployable liberal arts students too;

Italian environmental protesters threw pea soup over a Vincent Van Gogh painting on display in Rome on Friday before gluing themselves to the wall of the gallery. The climate activists from Last Generation called their protest 'a desperate and scientifically grounded cry that cannot be understood as mere vandalism'.

Daily Mail

The rantings of these unhinged layabouts is quite comical.

I have no idea why Sky News would indulge an unhinged white privileged unemployable art student from "Just Stop Oil" but they did and it was hilarious. But with the name Indigo Rumbelow, she was born to be an annoying twat;

Perhaps it's satire.

And of course, Indigo is a hypocrite of the highest order;

The Just Stop Oil spokesman urged to stop screaming on live TV last night is a keen traveller racking up thousands of air miles when away from the stunning Welsh farm she grew up on, MailOnline can reveal today. Indigo Rumbelow, 28, appears to have travelled to Nepal twice since 2015 - posting a picture of herself jetting there by plane at around 30,000ft. The activist, who once glued herself to the M25 for Insulate Britain and was Extinction Rebellion's arts coordinator from North East London, has also apparently enjoyed breaks in Sweden, Lithuania, Croatia and other beauty spots abroad.

Someone needed to have slapped the shit out of those girls when they splattered the painting. I would have.

I wonder how these two twits live without using fossil fuels. Do they walk everywhere? Like literally, everyday, no matter how far it is, to walk there? Driving an electric car also means using fossil fuels since the plant that makes electricity runs on coal or other fuel. Not to mention the mining of the minerals required to make the batteries for the electric cars are also very polluting.

But yeah, I doubt these two twits walk of ride bicycles everywhere and not ride or even drive a car, and more than likely both have ridden in planes.

The assault on the working classes by the white privileged retirees and unemployable liberal art students continues;

This is the moment a desperate motorist blocked by Just Stop Oil protesters pleaded with a policeman to help him get to work this morning - only to be completely ignored as the zealots brought traffic to a standstill. The eco-warriors donned their orange high-vis jackets as they 'slow marched' through central London for the third day in a row on Wednesday as part of a new campaign of 'civil resistance'.
In one video shared online, an exasperated motorist yells: 'I've got to go to work!', before pleading with a passing policeman: 'Officer, please help me get to work,' only for the man in uniform to continue walking past him. Just Stop Oil is demanding the government immediately halt all future licensing and consents for the exploration, development and production of fossil fuels in the UK.

Daily Mail

Here is one of the white privileged retiree cultists that Just Stop Oil has on its website, held up as an endorsement for their organization;

It really is an end of times, rapture like cult.

And in other research, scientists decided to test the hypothesis that water is wet. The conclusion? And emphatic, "Yes!"

Seriously, how disruptive protesters like this think that being obnoxious and annoying will make people "see the light' is beyond me.

Blocking a thruway.

Assault.

Republicans complain about one as though it were a sign of the world ending, and dismiss the importance of the other. Then they claim to be the tough on crime party.

Welcome to America, we deserve ourselves.

Yeah, I wonder how many of them are secretly being funded by the other side.

You seem to have a habit of bringing in Republicans into a situation when there is no evidence they are actually involved. What Republicans, specifically, are you talking about who are saying that "blocking a thruway" is anywhere close to being a sign of the world ending, and who are also dismissing the assault in the video? Are people in the video discussing their political party affiliation somewhere that I missed? Or is it people in this thread commenting on this incident? I'm beginning to wonder if you check under your bed every night for Republicans. ;)

While it seems very likely that the squatting protestors are left leaning politically, it doesn't seem all that clear that the drivers getting annoyed and assaulting must be be right wing Republicans. Unless you're making a claim that Democrats should always approve of any stupid and annoying shit that the extremists in their political party are doing. Which if true, is a pretty sad thing and I say, "Welcome to America, we deserve ourselves."

Fucked around and found out;

This is the shocking moment a motorist shot dead two environmental demonstrators at near point blank range after becoming enraged over their road blockade in Panama. Harrowing images captured the shooter, a frustrated elderly man, climbing out of his car to argue with the eco-protesters who had stopped traffic on the Pan-American Highway in the town of Chame. He initially attempted to reason with the protesters, but moments later pulled a handgun from his pocket and began gesturing wildly as his frustration grew. Despite the imminent danger, the protesters stubbornly refused to curtail their demonstration and continued to argue back and forth with the disgruntled motorist, who became visibly more enraged with each passing moment. For a time it looked as though the gunman was prepared to back down, but when one protester holding a flag stepped towards him, he snapped the pistol back up and fired at his target from mere feet away. Terrified onlookers and other protesters helped move the victim to the side of the road and laid him down on the ground as the gunman calmly began dismantling a small barricade made of stones and tyres erected by the demonstrators. Still undeterred, another protester wearing a black t-shirt and jeans tried to confront the gunman and was also shot. Footage shows how he recoiled from the shot, holding his upper chest in pain and with an expression of disbelief on his face. He is shown hobbling away to the side of the road as other protesters run for cover, before slumping to the ground.

So... you're openly endorsing mass murder, now. Charming.
