Europe submits voluntarily

Folks,

In politics, perception and emotion are all. The image of a Muslim migration and the recent Paris shootings is chiming with the image of 20 miles of choppy channel between UK and Europe. This is the Brexiteer's message (don't let them tell you it's about the economy or anything else).

I will be voting to remain in the EU, but as I do so that image of the channel and an aborted operation 'Sealion' will be in my mind. If I'm thinking of that, then others may be, and Brexit is more likely IMHO.

Alex.

People who commit such acts are a very small minority. The message is not 'Muslims being bad' as a generality. Asylum seekers are welcome which I say in part because the UK US and some European countries have caused this chaos in a fanatical bid for regime change.

The problem is security, even though many are coming in. We also need to filter off more economic migrant and perhaps a very small amount of fanatics as best as possible.

Letting people into Europe without security checks was a bad mistake and I think this is being tightened up.

There are issues regarding the control of finances by the Eu, laws being made by un-elected Eu committees and that we could expand our trade worldwide.

I am not registered to vote as I lived abroad for over 20 years but would vote to leave. I also work with Muslims and have been hired by Arab companies.

I'm not registered to vote for the same reason; and I would vote to stay - so we cancel each other out :)

Of course they were cheaper. Now you have some dictator like faceless men in Brussels deciding where Britain is to buy lamb and many other consumer goods.

So David Cameron is your close personal friend is he? What's the difference if the faceless dictator is in Brussels or London?

Oh... wait... I think I know. It's got something to do with Islam, hasn't it?

Nothing to do with the Islamic ideology. But what benefits has Britain got from being in the EU?

That's a completely different question. What does Stoke-on-Trent benefit from being a part of the UK? They should be ruled from Birmingham. Not some faceless dictator in London. This is an endless regression.

The British Isles are nothing like Stoke-on-Trent which is part of the UK which are geographically across the English Channel, a separate nation.

But Europe is a separate nation from Asia, which are geographically different. That argument didn't work either.

Culture and languages shift so gradually across Europe that you can literally draw borders anywhere. Wherever you put them they will make just as much sense as where ever else.

I recently moved to Copenhagen from Stockholm. Stockholm is a bit like a cross between Denmark and Norrland (northern Sweden) and Finland. Danish culture is a bit like a cross between Sweden, Holland and Germany. And so it goes, on and on, throughout all of Europe. No matter what you try to pick out as unique for your European country, it won't be.

The countries/nations of Europe are all pulled out of the arses of some king or emperor or whatever. They make absolutely no logical sense. It's all down to dynastic struggles 200 - 1500 years ago that are utterly and completely irrelevant today. I understand that there are people who love this shit, and national pride is their prime hobby. But it doesn't make any more sense than any other hobby, like crocheting or bottle cap collecting.

Water, therefore Brexit.

France faces a constant battle against terrorists, 15 major threats foiled;

The French President has insisted the country is doing all it can to foil terror plots but admitted 'more innocents will lose their lives'.
Manuel Valls said the intelligence and police services had stopped 15 attacks since 2013 and were waging a non-stop battle to track down and prevent terrorists. He was speaking following the murders of two police officials near Paris who were killed by a man who had pledged allegiance to ISIS.
The country is also hosting the European football Championships, with 90,000 soldiers and police officers patrolling stadiums and fan zones.

It is inevitable that another incident at the hands of allah's holy warriors will happen.

There was just recently, another empire which today is fragmented, and as idogicaly different as the UK is to the rest of Europe. The empire was the USSR.

100% guaranteed. Wherever there is an Islamic minority, there will be terrorist attacks!

Yes, I agree. The EU parliament outlawing roaming charges across Europe arguing that it is a cartel is comparable to a totalitarian police state. Totally the same thing. Not being able to eat a straight banana is comparable to detention and execution in a show trial without the right to defend yourself. Not being able to fly a swastika in Germany is comparable to a total lack of free press or free expression. Totally the same thing. How could I have been so blind all these years.

You're so clever Angelo. Please teach us more.

The swastika is often used by nut cases of the extreme right or left in protest against various government rules and regulations.

Roaming charges could be abolished worldwide as we now have the technology to do so. Some phone providers have been offering that already.
In the UK a person can wear a Nazi uniform if he is going to a fancy dress party. However in a democracy we sometimes have to tolerate the intolerable.

Tell that to the socialist ideologies who would stop freedom of expression if it may offend a certain minority.

Someone wearing a swastika can always say there are a Buddhist or a Hindu. Well that was not a Nazi salute, he was giving directions to someone.

Will never happen. This is classic tragedy of the commons. Either all companies have to do it at once or nobody will do it. It needs a kind of multi-state parliament to force all participants to agree. Without the EU it would never have happened.

I also think that swastikas should be legal. That wasn't the issue. I was comparing the degree as to how we are limited in free speech.
