Europe submits voluntarily

Perhaps the EU ought to look at the Australian Liberal government solution to the problem.

One of the solutions is to turn back the boats from to wherever they come from. Another is to publicize to country of origin of these welfare seekers that " they will not be allowed to settle in Europe by arriving by boats." To use the proper protocol of refugee status to apply for refuge.
This would have the extra benefits of stopping most freeloaders from embarking and using people smugglers.

Australia is an island, very far away from everything else. Most borders aren't as secure. There might as well be a land bridge across the Mediterranean. It's that damn easy to get across. I've travelled across the Baltic in a small sailing boat. That's harder than crossing the Mediterrenean. You have to be damn unlucky to fail in any boat

A lot of the smugglers buy cheap inflatable dinghies, less than $1,000 a unit. It's a single use item and is a business overhead. Sometimes they steal fishing boats. There's money to be made.

I think you just made that up. Right now fish in North Africa is extremely expensive because almost all the fishing boats are used for smugling. Very few of them sink. Nearly all the fish sold is imported from Pacific fisheries.

Nothing to do with mind reading. It's a fact. The smugglers push the migrants out to sea with a satellite phone telling them to call the NGO rescue boat when it starts to go tits up.

That's very creative interpretation of what you are reading about this. The boat is still valuable. As is the satelite phone. They will want them back. Thinking anything else is dumb IMHO

They don't go out aiming to sink and get rescued. That's what I said was dumb.

The aim is to get to the other side but they hope to get rescued before they sink. That's the risk they take and they gamble on that. And don't kid yourself, plenty of smugglers push them out to sea knowing full well the boat will not make it and the people on board are fucked if a rescue boat doesn't get them. And if the smugglers are actually on the boat, they are easy to spot, they are the only people wearing a life vest.

What a great business model. Take a loan to buy a boat, take on passengers to pay off that loan, sink the boat = have nothing but the loan left. You've really thought this through.

Here's a tip, don't start a company. You don't seem to be strong at business finances. Obviously, sinking would be a disaster for these people. It's fucking dumb to think they're doing it on purpose.

Here's a tip: Read.

The loan is paid off by what they got for smuggling. It's pay in advance.

Sure, send me links. Here's my guess... your sources are bullshit

All the more reason! brexit was an anti Brussels vote pure and simple.

Wait, what? Are you for Brexit? Because why? Why would anybody in their right minds be against the EU?

You are asking an unreasonable question. How could angelo possibly be expected to know what somebody in their right mind would think?

So, this is different, but in some ways the same. Not wanting the culture that some of the people coming in have. Combine that with law enforcement not wanting to look racist for cracking down on it.

Los Angeles. A Spanish named city. :hysterical:

Show your open borders funding buddy this video

Heathrow airport alone processes 73.4 millions of passengers per year (2014 figure, bound to be more now), over 90% of which coming from or bound for a foreign destination. That's 200-fucking-thousand per day.

But somehow, a few dozen Africans not going through Heathrow represents a "flood" and an "invasion".

My son's better at numbers than you guys, and he's only had one year of school so far.

Los Angeles was Mexico before it became US.

Just saying...

In other words the majority of British who voted for Brexit were not in their right mind? Neither were Queenslanders who re-elected the free spending Labor government, South Australians who threw out the loony Wetheril government?

The interviewer was Arabic. And clearly not on the side of these guys. How come he didn't "take his values with him"? Your theory didn't work out so well, did it?
Just because these values are not unanimously held, does not mean they are not widespread.

That's why the West needs to be careful which migrants we let in. When 99% of Afghans support Sharia Law, it is suicidal to just keep letting Afghan fakefugees in without checking what their background and values are. And it is even worse to make it nigh impossible to deport them even when it turns out they are criminals and/or Islamists.

A few dozen? It's thousands. And they are not here for vacation, but to stay forever, because it's virtually impossible to deport these illegals.

What smugglers actually do is recover the engine and presumably the satellite phone as well once the "distress" call is made to the taxi service smugglers' little helpers NGO rescue boats.
Most smuggling these days is with cheap inflatable boats which are much cheaper than the moneys the smugglers get for a boat-full of illegals.

Yes, it's easier to secure Australia. That doesn't mean that EU should not do whatever it can to deter and defend against mass migration, instead of picking up migrants a few miles off the coast of Africa and bringing them to European shores.
I.e. just because not all illegal arrivals can be avoided is not reason to go out and help 100,000s of migrants invade Europe.
