Georgia's new guidelines for hair salons

Yeah, "whining" about protecting lives while right wing authoritarian morons literally do whine about wanting other people to risk their lives going back to work so the sociopathic trumpity dipshits can get a hair cut.
One of Halfie's go-to charges is that it's librrrsls demanding military intervention but won't enlist.

Anderson Cooper asked The Bitch of Las Vegas if she was going to go out on the casino floors with the dealers she'd putting at risk by reopening the city.
Her response was negative. 'First of all, I have a family...'

Sexist, Keith.

Anyway, you're right Keith. A lot of leftists wanted the troops to come home. Then when Trump brought them home, they whined about how "The Kurds need protection!!!!" But according to their logic, other people from other countries should protect themselves and not rely on the U.S. to coddle them.

Funny how they call conservatives' desire to help other countries is "nationalism" but wanting to help no one but America is considered not nationalism. I think leftists have their definitions backwards there. Saying, "Screw every other country! Only help our country!" is the very definition of nationalism! And it's pushed by leftists, not conservatives.

Funny how that works, huh?

People just need to wear masks. Can't spread it to someone through a mask. If you could spread it with a mask, they wouldn't recommend wearing a mask.

Common sense 101.

As I've stated before, grocery workers and other workers have been working through this whole thing no problem. Open up the country and just have everyone wear masks. Very simple. Unless you're saying masks are useless? Then why are we wearing them now?

Masks are not useless, depending on the type of mask and how well the wearer uses them and a host of other variables, including the material a mask is made from. For instance, one very popular pattern for a new sew mask uses a clean sock.

Here's something else you can do with a clean sock:

So maybe socks don't make very good masks.

Also, cutting hair involves the operator being extremely close to the client's face--definitely sharing germs even if wearing masks, which is not very convenient for hair styling.

I was at the grocery store the other day and a guy next to me sneezed right into his mask. It was just on his face. He didn't remove the mask or anything. Just let out a full blown sneeze.

I highly doubt that got through to me, and that's a sneeze! We're just talking about cutting hair with no sneezing.

And grocery store workers and other fast food workers don't stand 6 feet apart from one another. You would expect to see every grocery store in America shutting down because of the spread of the employees always being around each other. But, it doesn't happen. They are still open and working. Makes you think it's not as bad as the media says.

It can be done!

I'm telling you, right wing authoritarian mentality is deeply sociopathic. Maybe not sociopathic in the sense of a psychiatric diagnosis because they seem to have no trouble experiencing empathy for their in-group, but their actions, attitudes, votes, choices, etc., that affect all of society are for all intents and purposes fucking sociopathic. They accept the most depraved and inhumane things happening to all those Other people, those not-human cardboard cutout people not of their tribe, without a blink. It's a disease of humanity.

It's certainly not psychotic to tell people, "if you don't want to leave your house, then don't leave your house. But, for everyone else else who wants to leave, then leave."

As I said, I have a friend who works at Amazon and he said one of their co-workers hasn't been to work since early March because of his fear of catching the virus. He hasn't been fired. He's coming back after things get better.

More workers can choose to do this. Work is voluntary right now.

They just had a guy on Fox News being interviewed by Hannity. He was saying, "Trump built beds in record time. Andrew Cuomo has praised the President's response. Even the governor of California has said that Trump was always there on the phone when he needed him to be. 0 deaths in the U.S. when Trump enacted the travel ban from China."

When will the TDS stop? Trump has done than the fake news says. Remember Pelosi was suggesting on Feb 27 that we should all go to Chinatown and have a parade. Fauci told us on March 9 that we can go party on cruise ships if we're healthy.

But yep, EVERYONE else knew of the problem except for Trump!

At least 30 grocery store workers have died from the coronavirus. Now, there's an urgent call to designate them as first responders

I salute them. They made a choice to continue working through this. Some people made a choice to stay home and not work, such as my friend's friend who works at Amazon.

Who said psychotic? Although that probably applies, too.

It IS, however, sociopathic to tell others to get back to work in a pandemic. NO ONE stopped those people going out. They're not there to protest not being able to leave their homes. Obviously, they left their homes and no one stopped them. That's not what they're whining about. They're doing as they are programmed to do, which is fight to the teeth for the rich and powerful, who actually do not care about them.

Used to verify the sub's water-tight integrity, not because i FEARED the ocean, i just had a pretty good idea that it would be a bad fucking idea to dive with the hatch open. Seems like an easy step to avoid some avoidable consequences...

I don’t FEAR the road but I look both ways when crossing the road.

Can you clarify your first statement above with your second? The first one seemed to imply it was safe being a grocery store worker.

Do these people really have a choice though? If they quit, they cannot get unemployment benefits. For them, it's either work or starve.

It's not about fear, it's about caring for other's well being.

Okay, stay home anyway ! Never leave your house ever again (or until a vaccine is developed that banishes all virus) if that is what it takes for you and who ever it is you care about to never get sick.

Or like decent rational people, until the science indicates that the number of active infections has declined to the point where a system overwhelming spike is less likely. Something that would come faster if idiots didn't leave their home for non-essential reasons. It's a mathematical certainty that the protesters have spread the infection and cost lives.

And I'll vote for and support a government that forces you to stay at home too, using force if needed. Because you don't have the right to recklessly endanger other's lives, no matter how little you care about them. And our constitutional democratic government that protects citizens from others who abuse the commons and violate the social contract has the right and power to do so. And it's no more "fascist" than preventing you from driving 60 in a school zone, dumping poison in the ground water, driving around during a manhunt with a ordered lockdown (such as with Boston bombing), or countless other acts that put others at risk and interfere with efforts to protect the public interests. Just like 20mph speed limits and manhunt lockdowns are only unjust oppression if enforced across the board and not limited to a special context to prevent an acute risk, the same is true of pandemic lockdowns.

Rational people understand that the lockdown has served its purpose, in most areas, New York being the outlier. To continue the lockdown is irrational and counterproductive now.

Of course you will.

You (and the MSM media) project this thing like leaving your house is a potential death sentence to everyone around you. That is irrational. The vast, VAST majority of people that contract the virus recover easily.

Stay home fella, there's a lot can go wrong if you leave the house.

Well if TSwizzle from West Hollywood says so it must be true.

Well, let's see if the man who wrote the editorial, I'm about to post, can help explain things to the poster here who don't seem to have a clue! But first, let's be clear. Nobody has said that the country should be shut down until a cure or vaccine is found, it's just that non essential businesses can wait a little longer before they open. Grocery stores are essential as we all have to eat, and I'm glad to see that all of the stores in my area have made the lanes one way, and have put up plexiglass screens in front of the cashiers, and some are giving their staff gloves and masks. They are still at risk, but if all the shoppers would wear masks and practice the six foot rule, it would certainly help. Getting a massage, a tattoo or even a hair cut isn't essential right now and there was no rational reason why Georgia couldn't wait a little longer before helping spread this virus.

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/04/24/opinion/coronavirus-covid-19-georgia-reopen.html?action=click&module=Opinion&pgtype=Homepage

.On Tuesday, Gov. Brian Kemp of Georgia announced plans to begin reopening businesses across his state. By Monday, restaurants, gyms, movie theaters and hair salons will have permission to welcome the public back inside.

Members of Governor Kemp’s own coronavirus task force were surprised by the announcement. Mayors advised constituents to stay home despite the lifting of restrictions. Even President Trump, an ally of the Republican governor, said the state’s rollback is “just too soon.”

An analysis of Georgia’s infection rates, testing and underlying health risks shows why it’s singularly unwise for the state to reopen. Doing so risks a spike in infections just as the virus could be peaking.

Georgia has one of the lowest testing rates in the nation
Less than 1 percent of Georgians have been tested, compared to almost 4 percent of residents in New York and Louisiana.

Why can't Kemp wait a few more weeks to see if things will begin to level off? If we open too quickly and there is a big resurgence of the virus, it will cause more tanking of the economy than what we've already suffered. Our hospitals, especially in rural areas, won't be able to handle the increased number of cases. There were be more people in need of financial help. It's just a bad idea to open things up so quickly. I'm a trim, fit healthy person, but I am over 65. I don't want to put myself at risk, even though I'm less likely to have complications compared to some of my low income friends who have underlying conditions. I don't want my fellow nurses to have to continue to work under increased stress, and I certainly don't want grocery store workers and other essential workers to be put at higher risk, just because some ignorant people want a haircut, a massage or a tattoo.

You should stay home until a vaccine is found.

Tens of thousands of people die from flu or flu related illness EVERY year in the USA. How worried about that were you before this year ?

"and those that do it's very mild."
Definitely not true. in Sweden the about half o the patients in intensive care is < 60 years old.

Seasonal flu is both less contagious and less deadly. Seasonal flu is well known and predictable enough that we don't have to worry about hospitals being overwhelmed and running out of respirators and masks. They pretty much know what to expect and know that seasonal flu is not likely to break the healthcare system. Also, vaccines are available for seasonal flu.

Not really.

Again, not really.

Stay home if you are so worried.
