How should west respond to potential (likely) Russian invasion of Ukraine?

The idea of a Ukrainian hit squad sent to Moscow to target Dugin is absurd.
Why? they have been doing that lately and the last 8 years (in Donbas) really.
Ukrainian hit squads in Donbas?! That makes no sense, what would they be targeting?
Dude, you really need to study the material.
Ukrainian nazi regime has assassinated quite a number of leaders (military and civilian) of breakaway region over the span of 8 years, including their president.

Now they road bomb officials and such every day. It just does nit get reported to you by your corrupt media.

In this case, it is Russia who are acting like Nazis. The parallels between Putin's rhetoric today and Nazi Germany in 1940 are unmistakable.

Just as Germany did not have the resources to fight an extended war, Putin is now in the same position. No one believes Russian non sense about Nazis in Ukraine and the result of Putin's blunder is Russia is isolated from the world and is destined to become a larger version of North Korea.

Yea, I agree. The Russians are just deluded. And I don't think that Putler is interested in the least in negotiations. He just throws it out there in order to divide the west. The west has to find additional ways to add more sanctions against Russia. Europe has to find a way stop buying their gas.

Now we have Chechens fighting on both sides of this war, although the new "Dudayev Battalion" is not likely to make a huge difference. They are followers of the late Dzhokar Dudayev, who led Chechnya's first war of independence from Russia in the early 1990s. Although Dudayev was assassinated by a Russian missile strike, the first war led to de facto independence from Russia. However, Putin came to power in Russia by scapegoating Chechens for the infamous  Russian apartment bombings, which many believe he himself used the FSB to carry out. Putin then reinvaded Chechnya to crush their independence. Subsequently, Ramzan Kadyrov's late father, Akhmad Kadyrov, switched sides and helped Putin to reoccupy Chechnya. Ramzan is well known as being one of Putin's bloodiest henchmen and is playing a large role in the Ukraine invasion.

So these Chechen recruits to Kyiv's cause are a rival faction to the Kadyrov faction. One can expect that these fighters will take their training and experiences back to Chechnya when they are done in Ukraine, possibly reigniting Chechen resistance to the Russian domination of their homeland.

Russia probably has the highest well head price of any major producer in the world and as their petro infrastructure continues to deteriorate, it will get higher. They will soon reach a point where it costs more to produce the gas, than the selling price. In this case, buying Russian gas is better than a sanction.

Still not providing evidence to the crap you spew. I'm still waiting for you to provide any evidence to the shit you spewed here.

Is it fair for everyone to think that your arguments are piss-weak? Are you ever going to supply evidence towards you assertions?

The smart money says no. Your arguments will always be piss-weak.

Berlin will back Kyiv for 'as long as necessary'

Baerbock also defended Ukraine's claim to the Crimean Peninsula, which was illegally annexed by Russia in 2014.

"Crimea also belongs to Ukraine. The world has never recognized the annexation of 2014, which was against international law," she told the newspaper.

Even Crimea. Interesting. Well if you’re in I guess we’re in too.

So let’s be productive and helpful here. It’s true that barbos‘ arguments so far have appeared to be just blind cheerleading and dismisive insults, coupled with links to completely unverifiable youtubes.

So if we were to help barbos examine what makes an actual good set of arguments and supporting evidence to help him learn how to vet his sources, what suggestions could we offer?

He already knows. He told me early on in this or similar thread I would do best to seek European news sources, particularly German. So I am. But evidently he is not taking his own advice. In short, I believe he knows full well he is full of shit and is just arguing for the sake of arguing. I've said as much pages ago. People don't care because they, like Barbos are more than happy to argue for the sake of arguing.
So let them.

Aaah, thank you. Well here we are, then.

The situation is, as long as Ukraine is halting Russian aggression in East Ukraine, Russia cannot attack Poland, the Baltic states, Finland, Sweden, or NATO partners. And to use economic warfare to cripple Russia's military abilities. Russia is screwed.

That’s all well and good. In the meantime, Ukraine is a punching bag. Apartment buildings, train stations, hospitals, etc. I don’t know if giving Ukrainian forces the ability to strike deeper at Russian forces is the answer or not but status quo should not be tolerated.

For as bad as we might be able to make it economically on Russia, energy costs for Europe may be just as bad.

The "Kherson counter-offensive" has become joke on twitter that every pro-Russian troll likes to throw around like monkeys throw feces. Is this the real counter-offensive, or is it just a political necessity because Ukraine promised that they'll start counteroffensives before September? I don't see any particular reason why Ukraine would be any more capable to conduct counter-offensives than they were three months ago, and Russia has been moving troops and equipment to Kherson all summer long.

If Ukraine can get any land back, Kherson is probably the most likely place it'll happen. Ukraine has been able to constrain Russian logistics by damaging the three bridges over the Dnipro river, and Russia hasn't yet finished the replacement pontoon bridge. But Russia has multiple barges, plenty of troops and equipment already on the right bank of the river, and the upcoming pontoon bridge is partly shielded by the actual Antonivskyi bridge and maybe harder to disable.

EDIT: If I had to guess, I'd say it's just a political proclamation and Ukraine will not be able to make any progress. At worst, the Ukrainian politicians (including Zelensky) are pushing for the military to advance when they're not ready, which will lead to huge casualties.
