I am not seeing the problem here. The heroes always escape, often by running away from explosions and banding together with unlikely partners, and so the destruction provides a heartwarming tale of human ingenuity and unity in the face of adversity. And only extras actually die, and the few whose stories we see are almost invariably avaricious and undone by their greed.

Of course, it's just possible that Hollywood is not an entirely reliable guide to reality.

Orbán is in a constant battle with the EU to maintain his autocracy. He'll use every opportunity he can to gain concession from them. Hungary is reliant upon the EU for cash. The EU is reliant upon Hungary for a vote. Orbán does not want to hold to the values that EU membership requires. It's this tit for tat or he sells Hungary off to the Chinese one piece at a time.

Well, it's Orban who doesn't want to hold to the values required of EU members. The people of Hungary seem just fine with them, but Orban manages to win every election by hook or by crook. Electoral politics there can be as corrupt as in Republican-gerrymandered states in the US.

Yea, Zaluzhny failed in the counter offensive. The west is partially to blame for slowing down arms to Ukraine. They really need the F-16s. It's not easy to evict an entrenched enemy with unlimited amounts of troops willing to be sacrificed.
