Isn't Kentuky's knowingly and purposefully not taking any action against her and not telling her to do her job, a violation of something or other in your constitution? Can individual states merely say to the rest of the country that no, they won't follow the laws of the USA. Isn't that a form of rebellion or something?

This happens with fair frequency in American history, and it's not just states. Sometimes one branch of government will completely ignore the oversight of another branch of government. This afternoon, her lawyers said the marriage licenses "aren't worth the paper they're printed on..." because they lack the signature of the county clerk - the bigot Davis.

Man, what shitty lawyers she has.

Her signature doesn't matter. She's not signing on behalf of herself, she's signing on behalf of the state. She refused to do so. The state replied that she didn't matter, THEY authorize the licenses and that is what counts.

People wonder how long she'll stay pig-headed. Apparently her lawyers already said they'll file an appeal on contempt of court.

I think the rule would only apply to Christian beliefs. Mind you, they don't actually have to be in the bible, as long as some Christians think they are.
