Liz Truss Is Now Britain's Prime Minister

I've seen guys going off on rants like that at the bar just before getting knocked out.

Johnson drops out... who knows why. Sunak to become newest Tory Revolving Door PM. We all look forward to how he'll handle things a bit better than Truss, but seeing the Tories drove the UK off a cliff, while he can sound more competent... still falling off a cliff. Also, if he is so much better than Truss... why did they go with Truss?
They went with Truss because "they" were the general party membership (think "MAGA" spelled in British fashion).

They went with Sunak because "they" are the Tory members of Parliament, and they went with him the last time too.
The UK is a democracy, so obviously their leader should be elected by 357 wealthy oligarchs who are not only all members of the same political party, but all represent that party in parliament.

Well, little bit about the new guy. (why bother learning his name if he won't be there long?)

His parents were from India. But aside from that he sounds a lot like any Republican insider. Educated at elite private schools, Winchester College, Lincoln College, Oxford, and an MBA from Stanford University in California as a Fulbright Scholar. Worked for Goldman Sachs, then at a hedge fund. He married the daughter of a billionaire. And apparently was in some kind of scandal where he helped write a tax law with a loophole for people with foreign citizenship, which his wife was able to take advantage of. (him too as he apparently holds property in the US and has some claim of US citizenship?)

Looks like Truss might not be able to keep her world record of shortest Tenure.

Rishi Sunak’s net worth makes him one of the richest U.K. prime ministers - The Washington Post
Brits are used to being ruled by elites — Boris Johnson was about as elite as they come — but Sunak is not just rich, he is super rich, which has prompted some to ask whether his vast fortune makes him too rich to be prime minister.

His backers, however, say it is precisely his background as chancellor and the years spent making money that qualify him to lead a deeply damaged nation during these economically tumultuous times.

Sunak, a former banker, and his wife, Indian tech heiress Akshata Murty, have an estimated fortune of about 730 million pounds ($830 million), according to the Sunday Times Rich List. On this year’s list, published before her death, Queen Elizabeth II was estimated to have about 370 million pounds ($420 million) by comparison.
