Mueller investigation

My persistent ambivalence -
"I wish Mueller would just drop the bomb already!"
"... probably best if he holds off until October 2018..."

That do y'all think/feel?

Depends on what the bomb is... if its "trump is under arrest", then immediately would be best... faster, even.
if its "Flynn is going to jail for 6 months for independently doing stuff", then perfectly timed to cause the most harm to the (now defunct) Republican party would be ideal for me.

I'd prefer not to give the rethuglican establishment any more time than necessary to let them distance themselves from Trump&Co and re-group for the 2018 elections. Best if the stench remains strong at the beginning of November next year... OTOH, a Pence Presidency might only add to the damage. I'm still ambivalent!

I am of the opinion that a Pence Presidency after a Trump resignation would just be a lame duck... nothing gets done till the people can vote. I would like to see a Trump resignation immediately, a Pence Placeholder for the next couple of years where only the status quo is done, and then a fresh election using hardened technology and fully transparent campaigning.

I can dream, can't I?

If he doesn't have the goods on Russia, wait. If Congress doesn't flip 2018, obstruction won't be enough.
He already knows what happened. He is trying to make it admissible in court. With Flynn turncoating on Trump, we are likely closer.

The video likely is real. The Russians own the Trumps.

When the time is right, Mueller will leak he is going to indict Donnie Jr and then by his idiotic instinct Donnie Jr will leak all of his incriminating emails on Twitter. Mueller will then have Jr in his hands.

I think it may be easier yet than that... Trump did not expect to win the election. obviously, no one did. He expected to be on the sidelines where he could hurl unsubstantiated claims as a private citizen and claim its all rigged against him... bla bla bla...

He needs an out. He wants an out so he can get back to playing golf and laundering money through his real estate dealings, like he had been doing in NY for decades with the Russians. His out will be threats of legal action against Jr. He will be able to resign under the guise of the system being rigged against him like he originally planned, and that he is 'reluctantly' stepping down to protect his children from the evil dark state, or whatever.

It will be interesting if the chips fall that way, and Cheato goes on to incite violence among his former acolytes. I don't think he could resist the urge to do that, and might find himself incarcerated because of it.

Regardless of how this presidency ends, the Trump family business will be in ruins... unable to get out from under the piles of lawsuits from every corner of the country he tried to rob... and unable to find a partner anywhere in the world willing to do business with them.
I predict that by 2025, his whole family will be bankrupt, or otherwise financially paralyzed.

He fired the FBI Director, the acting Attorney General, and replaced the 4th in line for the AG seat with a yes man (Bork wannabe). These aren't actions of a man looking to quit.

And he is stacking our court system as fast as he can with the bottle of the barrel authoritarians.

If anything, he is looking like a man who intends to make himself dictator for life if he can get away with it... (and really already believes that he is)

It's all or nothing for him... dictatorship, or busted trying. He is possibly seeing what it will finally take to get ousted... or, with everything he gets away with, become god of America.

"I'm just trying to get fired, but with all this that you let me get away with, I'll just take the whole country with me now"

That raises a question that I'm too lazy/hapless to answer for myself. To what extent could his successor (assuming there is one) un-do what he's doing, particularly to the federal courts? I know we're stuck with Neil Gorsuch (the same guy as Tom Bergeron) and whatever other moron he might get away with nominating, but what about all those lower court appointees? His tacky McZecutive Orders?

If the Dems take over the House and Senate starting in 2019, the GOP may filibuster the closing of the Session. Il Douchebag will then invoke Article II section III and rule by EO. That's how he will become "Devine Leader"

But with Unlce Vlad on Cheetolini's corner, the GOP may pick up seats in the House and the Senate and everything will be mute...Ryan would just ingnore the Mueller report.

Executive orders can be overturned by the next president (though whatever damage is done may take far longer to rectify)

Judicial appointments are for life. Typically, presidents appoint around 150 - 200 federal judges per 4-year term. Orange Turd has already nominated 58 of them - almost none of whom have been rated as "qualified" by non-partisan BAR associations.

This is my biggest fear (and what those fucking idiots who voted for this turd were warned would happen)

We need to take back both houses in 2018 to stop this moron

Y'know what's REALLY depressing? Knowing what that says without having to use a translator.

Only motions subject to debate are subject to filibuster (https://www.senate.gov/CRSpubs/3d51be23-64f8-448e-aa14-10ef0f94b77e.pdf page 5).

A simple motion to adjourn is a privileged motion and is not subject to debate (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motion_(parliamentary_procedure)#Privileged_motion).

Therefore the closing of a Session cannot be filibustered.

Quoting the Darth Sidius, "You underestimate the power of the Dark Side"

Then Why Article II Section III about a disagreement on the adjournment?

and in Case of Disagreement between them, with Respect to the Time of Adjournment, he may adjourn them to such Time as he shall think proper;
