Mueller investigation

Subtlety is lost on Underseer.

There's a relevant line in The Phantom Tollbooth, which I have remembered for 60 years. Spoken by the character Underseer:

"...and what I can't undersee, I overlook."

'Lock him up!': Hecklers turned Michael Flynn's anti-Clinton chant against him as he left his plea hearing

As Michael Flynn, the former White House national security adviser, left a federal courthouse in Washington, DC, on Friday after pleading guilty to lying to the FBI about his contacts with Russians last year, he was greeted with a familiar chant from protestors and hecklers who had gathered outside alongside reporters.

I can't wait to hear the explanation for why it was appropriate for Republicans to chant this, but not Democrats.

Yeah.

should we start IsraelGate thread now?

If you think that makes sense, go for it. I'm not going to try to stop your freedom of speech.
Question was not about whether or not we can, it was whether or not we should.

Yeah.

That video gives me such warm fuzzies.
I don't remember, has Flynn participated in that "Lock her up!" bullshit?

Flynn is pleading guilty to making false statements to the FBI:

Given everything else Mueller likely has on him, Flynn is likely making a deal with Mueller to roll over on other administration officials like Kushner, if not Trump himself.

Yeah, 'making false statements to the FBI'? That's it?

With all the accusations I heard floated?

It's no wonder the White House is aflutter. Cheeto Benito has probably locked himself in the john and is shitting bricks. The fire suppression crisis crews have probably scrambled.

That's it? Nope. Lots more... enough on him AND his son to lock them both up for decades.
BUT, this is it... you know why? It's called "making a deal"... now what do you suppose Flyn has that the FBI may want (and now has)?

I heard on Fox this weekend, "If they had anything solid, they would have charged him with it"....

Riiight... just like you ALWAYS go "all-in" as soon as you are dealt 3 aces... so you can be sure to win the ante (rolleyes).

It just doesn't;t work that way.... All the things they are not charging him with are the things being saved up for the real ring leaders of the crimes... who ya suppose that might be?

It is incredible spin. They seem to forget about the 'cooperation with the investigation' part of the plea deal. That is the trade off. Some people are either real dumb or desperate to make it looks like there is nothing to this. If there really was nothing to it, Fox News wouldn't even care.

It's Mueller managing Trump & Co's expectations. As long as they can say stuff like this, he's safe.

Flynn is very high up. Kuschner has to be next, and while Trump is sociopathic, I have to wonder if Trump thinks Kuschner is expendable or even a threat to himself. They took down the former NSA (granted only for a month). There isn't much higher you can go. Oddly, in a real White House, the VP and P are next. In this case, the adviser is next (Jared Kuschner), which speaks to a bigger problem and how fucked up the Trump Admin is.

Ya, it's been reduced to "No Collusion"... And as I said before... it's like being detained for driving 100mpg in a school zone while firing an automatic weapon out the window.. and just repeating "No DUI".

Well, we seem to have moved onto the next portion of the investigation, acceptance / denial at the same time.

article said:
President Donald Trump's personal attorney, John Dowd, claims the President cannot be guilty of obstructing justice, according to an interview with Axios.

"(The) President cannot obstruct justice because he is the chief law enforcement officer under (the Constitution's Article II) and has every right to express his view of any case," Dowd told Axios.

The new defense comes after a tweet from Trump's account suggested the President knew former White House national security adviser Michael Flynn had lied to the FBI when he was fired in February, raising questions about whether Trump knew about Flynn's lying before pressuring former FBI Director James Comey to let go of inquiries into Russian election meddling.
So, we've entered the new area where there is presumed guilt of obstruction of justice by Trump's own lawyer... just that they say Trump can't obstruct justice because he is the chief law enforcement in the nation. So umm... I suppose the Founding Fathers felt that the President could obstruct investigations into his Presidency (like a King could), but I'm thinking that might not be very likely.

And of course, they aren't admitting admitting to obstruction, just bringing it up for... conversation sake.
