According to the stories, the company was specifically owned by a foreign government. This doesn't apply (directly) to the trump foundation as far as I can tell.

True, but that could simply be a strategic "leak" (i.e., misdirection) to further throw people off the scent as it were.
Anticipation (and letting Trump sweat) is a powerful tool.

But the Trump Organization is directly owned by the leader of a domestic government, though. Doesn't that mean that whatever it did or does is outside the purview of the courts because of fascism?

Good. Gives Pelosi a chance to be installed as Speaker. Not that I especially want Pelosi as President but so far, she seems far less compromised than Trump or Pence.

I don't necessarily want Pelosi for President either, but if it means the usual suspects' heads will explode, I am all for it.
She wouldn't be my first pick, but I wouldn't be upset about it, either.
