Multi-Billionaire Oprah Whines About Sexism & Income Inequality At DNC

Like Outlander, Grey's Anatomy,....
Because producers go out of their way to include enough relationship "porn" to get women.
Uh huh, I'll take that a concession that you overreached with your claim.

Man, every television sitcom is relationship porn for guys. Regular looking husband, generally very attractive wife. In fact, this is so common in movies, it can't even be considered a trope as much as it is a backbone to American cinema.
Unfortunately, no amount of relationship "porn" can make women watch SciFi TV series.
Oddly enough, they needed to add a pair of large breasts to get men to watch Star Trek Voyager.
Of course it's not easy to jam a lot of relationship "porn" into SciFi. It just does not work.
Well, to be fair, there is virtually no SciFi on television at all. And the best Sci-Fi has struggled like heck to stay on at all (B5, The Expanse, Firefly *sobs*).
Bottom line, men don't watch Oprah. And Doctor Phil, really?
And men generally watch professional wrestling, therefore men don't watch shows with plots?
My grandmother was a huge fan of pro wrestling and also roller derby. Fun fact: as a child I actually met Dick the Bruiser. Also Meadowlark Lemon and Carmen Salvino.

That's not relationship "porn"
And pair of large breasts is present in all Star Treks. Voyager is not special in that regard.

True, nevertheless to my point, there is virtually no women watching StiFi series. The reason being no relationship "porn" there.

wait, what? You mean it’s not true that any man who looks like Shia LaBeouf can get a woman who looks like Megan Fox? Thats not normal?!??
I was thinking more like Kevin James and Rosario Dawson, but your example is acceptable.

ETA: Chick Flick - Movie where female protagonist bags an attractive male.

And men generally watch professional wrestling,
And most of them buy tickets I suspect, so no, not many men watch professional wrestling on TV.
Yeah sure. While ratings are no where near the stratosphere they were in in the late 90s, WWE draws a decent number on TV these days. Heck, it is signed up to be on Netflix soon.

What made you believe that you know this to be true?
What study
What poll
What data
?

I remember Oprah's early shtick. "Men who breathe. Next on Oprah".

My college roommate's girlfriend was addicted to Oprah. I'd see her around campus and say "Hi Shell." She'd respond with "Don't you say 'hi' to me! You've been breathing all day, haven't you! That'd be just like you! Men!"

I'd just shake my head and walk away.

Too bad she wasn't able to live to see women's wrestling in the Renaissance period it is in now. Oddly enough, I generally only try to catch the women's stuff as it feels fresher than the male wrestling. Men wrestling is too formulaic. It is becoming like professional basketball and I just want to fast forward to the last five ten minutes.

My data is based on the Big Bang Theory :D

The Big Bang Theory was predicated entirely upon the presence of an attractive female who would ultimately become the mate of one of the four nerds. Indeed, the addition of other female characters is the only thing that drove forward character development for the male characters.

No, women do not love shows about being raped or being prostitutes.
Jerry Springer might disagree.
Here is a thing. Women tend to like cheap unscripted shows where women basically bitching about relationships and gossips.
These shows cost literally nothing to produce, all you need is a good relatable personality like Oprah.
Men generally like scripted, expensive to produce shows with actual plot which spans years.
Statement is without evidence.

The misogyny in this statement is appalling.

Ever seen Bridesmaids? Chick dumps most attractive male ultimately for a nice guy. But the movie is really not about men or boyfriends but about women and their friendships and support.

You mean like these women?

Ada Lovelace was the first person to publish an algorithm intended to be executed by the first modern computer, the Analytical Engine created by Charles Babbage. As a result, she is often regarded as the first computer programmer.[

When I said attractive, I meant attractive nice guy.

Regardless, you are just feeding into the false narrative that women watch stuff other than Chick Flicks. Though Bridesmaids reminds me of The Heat. The emergency surgery scene taken from Just Like Heaven was comic genius!

Which sexist remark are you referring to?
That men are lazy and poor judges of quality TV.
Can you tell me the post number where I wrote that? I can’t find the post you are referring to….

I had no trouble finding it.
I realize that this is an extremely male dominated forum and also realize that despite making up slightly less than half of the world and doing far less than half of the work, men dominate, particularly in some countries.

I also realize that men are not very good arbiters of what is and is not good quality.

Ah, thanks.

Written in context of men evaluating shows whose content is primarily directed towards women rather than men.

I myself find war movies to be boring, at least those which focus on battles. I realize I’m not the intended audience and that my evaluation of such movies would be starkly different than that of most men.
