It is quite disheartening though that this thread has largely degenerated into one posting tweets that are making fun of Republicans rather than any attempt at a serious discussion of the 2024 cycle. Dems are in serious danger of losing 2024 with Biden being highly unpopular and older than dirt. It is perfectly possible you lot will guffaw yourselves into opposition again.

As if everybody loves both Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis. There are more things in Heaven and Earth than are dreamt of in Fox News.

I do not support one party rule, nor has Biden so much as suggested such a policy. But Trump and DeSantis are obviously supporters of fascist principles. That makes the issue of whom to vote for in 2024 a fairly simple one. What is there to discuss, really? DeSantis has made it plain that he wants all of my trans brothers and sisters to be targets of state persecution, and anyone who thinks bi men like myself aren't next is a goddamned fool.

That frail old man has been doing a competent job of running the country since he took office. He just managed to get the debt ceiling suspended for two full years without taking substantial cuts to his agenda of accomplishments. Basically, all he had to do was back off his threat never to negotiate, and that was the main victory for Republicans, who had been threatening to crash the economy if their demands weren't met. Today he trips over a sandbag, and all of the Republicans start squawking, flapping their wings, and losing feathers all over the place. Later on, Biden quipped that he had been "sandbagged". Trump can't even walk down a ramp, and he is way younger than Biden--a full three years!

Why Marianne Williamson’s Staffers Are Running for the Exits - Horrible Bosses - "More than 10 have quit since she announce she is running for president again."

In 2020, Marianne Williamson’s presidential campaign was plagued by poor morale and a miserable work culture, culminating in her firing the entire staff while she remained in the race.

Four years later, as the famed new age author mounts another longshot run for the Democratic nomination, the situation might somehow be worse.

At least 10 staffers have reportedly quit because she is so allegedly abusive, “a self-help guru who won’t get help,” according to one ex-staffer.

She's done so many nasty things that “yelling is almost the least fatal for her,” another ex-staffer said. Though in 2020, she vowed to “harness love” to defeat Donald Trump, according to one staffer, she nevertheless frequently tears down staffers with "demeaning" comments, and she subjects her staff to frequent outbursts. Like when she started banging on a car. “At one point, someone said, ‘I can’t go over to her now because she’ll have another meltdown,’”

She also tends to micromanage, these staffers say, because of her “poor leadership skills” and “an inability to delegate properly.” She also allegedly instructs more senior staffers to "chew out" more junior ones, and “to overstep, to step on toes.”

“I’ve worked in dozens of high-pressure campaigns,” one of them said. “Never have I experienced this kind of a tinderbox.”

She ran in the 2020 election, but though she made a splash in the 2019 debates, she dropped out shortly before the first primaries.

But this time around, there is nobody in the progressive ideological lane, and she could run in that lane. Bernie Sanders is not running this time around, though he did in 2016 and 2020, and Elizabeth Warren isn't either.

Running against a strongly favored incumbent in 2024, Williamson’s campaign was almost over before it started, according to former staffers, with some feeling guilt over small donors “giving their hard-earned money to something that’s not real.”

Another former Williamson campaign aide described the entire operation as “a vanity campaign” with “no real plan” between now and the first votes of the Democratic primary, likely to be in New Hampshire’s contest some time in January.
