Things that make you laugh...

This buffalo kills up to 200 people per year
The same buffalo???
I mean, if they’re all trying to kill him, I don’t blame him.
If you mean that’s the total for the species … no biggie. I mean, mosquitoes kill up to 1 million people every year. That basserd should have been hunting THEM if he was on a quest to prevent mortality.
My point was obviously not grasped.

If you read carefully, you will note that I do not condone hunting at all, nor the hunting of this animal.

I simply do not find the story funny.

If you read my posts carefully you will understand that I have a visceral hatred for guns, and for people who own them and don’t need them. People using them to kill animals that don’t need killing, are behaving despicably. I’m even squeamish about catch and release fishing in my old age. I don’t even like killing ants, and have pangs of regret for shooting pellets at coyotes in recent years, even though that’s the reason I have a pellet gun.

I understand your empathetic commiseration with the kin who lost their Mighty Hunter figurehead, but this thread is about things that make you laugh. You are free to not laugh, but criticizing others for laughing at something as funny as this, strikes me as an unnecessary and gratuitous DOWNER.
FWIW, the rolleyes emoji was a perfect response to my post IMO.

These stories will never not be funny.

Huh.
I had the impression from old west storys of killing buffalos from trains, that buffalos were dosile and easy targets.
people still find Hitler's mustache, the way he talks in his speeches, and Nazi marching funny. Just because the Holocaust was horrible doesn't mean we can't make anything related to it funny.
Comparisons to Rump fill my mind.

All herd animals are dangerous, if only due to their sheer size. Wild animals will defend themselves if they feel threatened. Even domesticated ruminants can be deadly.

In the UK alone, the Health and Safety Executive reported 74 deaths due to cows between 2000 and 2020, 18 of which were members of the general public (the rest being farm workers). All but one of those were dog walkers, suggesting that it is the presence of a threat that inspires the attack. Cows with calves are particularly prone to this.

Yup. Basic safety around big wildlife--do not do anything that might be interpreted as something they need to defend against.

Only three Bison deaths total afaic google.
Some people use them for cutting training. They're quite tireless (unlike cattle) and surprisingly calm around green horses.

That's a Buffalo, not a Bison. The difference is, you can't wash your hands in a Buffalo.
What’s eating Australians? MITES!
They have room mites, their naval personnel have ship mites, the kids have school mites … They even affectionately call each other “mite”!

I’ve been watching the carpenter in New Zealand. The way he pronounces “deck” keeps getting captioned by YouTube as “dick”. Mildly funny at times with the deck being of wood and all. Soft wood, hard wood. Important to consider.

Actually, you're getting your Kiwis and your Aussies mixed up. We can say "mate".

BTW, that cutting demo was fascinating.

You are obviously confusing the two distinct accents.
That’s like quibbling between east Kansas and west Kansas accents! Y’all might sound a mite closer to mate but it’s a mite of a difference. (Or is that a “moit”?)
