Trump VS COVID-19 Threat

Similar to the climate change scam to try to get us to pay a carbon tax while the elites still live in their mansions using more energy in a month than the average person uses in over a year.
The Elites? So, you stopped naming specific people? Because when you accused Gore of thst, someone packed the facts up your ass?
Still tired and obvious, Halfie, you don't know what you're talking about.

The fear mongering explanation seems to be the best explanation available right now.

Sure, the virus is real, but the fear mongering around it seems very fishy. Hospitals are not chaotic warzones like the media says. Thus, they lied. Why? To spread fear. Just like when CBS was caught using Italy's hospitals and said it was a NYC hospital to spread fear. When caught they said, "Opps! Just a mistake!" Yeah, a big mistake alright. Makes you wonder how much else they lie about without being caught.

It sounds much worse to say "Hospitals are chaotic warzones!!!" than it is to say, "Hospitals are pretty much quiet these days." Gets the people all riled up into a frenzy when the media goes bonkers.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by fear mongering. I wasn't being clear in my question, that's my fault. What do you think is motivating Hospitals looking empty.

Just to clarify, this is the explanation that makes the most sense to me. We are currently in a pandemic where the virus in question is extremely pervasive. Hospitals are shutting down all non essential procedures to reduce unnecessary exposure. This makes sense from a medical perspective and a financial perspective as the threat of receiving a lawsuit from a member of the general public being infected with this whilst going in for elective surgery is a distinct possibility. This also explains why the parts of the hospital accessible to the general public are empty right now. It's all about removing unnecessary risk from a medical, legal and financial viewpoint.

What's the explanation that makes the most sense to you?

Look at the mansions of sports stars, celebrities, and politicians.

Those are the elites. They are telling us peasants we have to change our lifestyle and pay a carbon tax.

But the elites don't have to change their lifestyle.

Mobsters and despots always complain about "the elites". They share a well earned inferiority complex, lacking any artistic, musical, literary or other talent as they do - esp in this case. The Trump Crime Family isn't raiding the coffers of the US Treasury because of fear of running out of milk money, it's about PINO wishing he could buy just one ounce of class. But he has to keep pleasing Uncle Vlad so his credit lines stay open and the Deutsch Bank files stay closed. Tough situation to be sure, but as long as he can rig the election he should be good for life.

Forget about the economy. Europe's in the tank, Africa is a basket case. China won't do anything without strings attached so it's not up to 'mericans going on a buying spree, because they won't do that any time soon. Too much confusion, fear, sudden debt, and uncertainty in the buyer for finding wallets.

If this were like the financial crash in '08 workers would be willing but employers won't want to give leeway so people can make existing payments.

Not going to be pretty. Not nearly as nice as the fix Obama marched into the system which lead to what a great environment we had before corona crashed the party.

Trump has removed most of the pillars needed to ensure a healthy economy that didn't break until corona.

No one thinks Trump will be able to engineer the machine so it will work given what we just had to go through.

I'm thinking deep recession if we elect a competent president, otherwise its gonna be the first depression of the 21st century.

Forget about those optimists wearing party hats dancing on the floors of the exchanges. All they see is free government money. They're looking to scoop it up for a short term bonanza and no further.

Remember the market made a comeback after the crash in '29 only to collapse in '31 and '33.

This time it won't be so pretty.

Every time a new piece of the puzzle is revealed, it is also revealed how Trump is a fuckup of cosmic proportions.

According to CNN, President Donald Trump’s administration pushed ahead with its plan to shutter a major agency tasked with identifying new sources of potential pandemics, even as the first reports of the novel coronavirus appeared in China — then frantically tried to reverse the decision as the crisis worsened.

So, where's all the reported deaths from people with life threatening conditions that are NOT coronavirus related?

What the fuck are you talking about? Are you saying because you haven't seen in the media a story about someone dying in a hospital unrelated to coronavirus there is a conspiracy? Do you really need an explanation on how fucking stupid that sounds?

We're being told that the hospitals are only for corona now. So, what happened to all the people who need life saving surgeries and can't get them, then? Souldn't the deaths be skyrocketing due to those?

No. We are being told that most of the cases that come in are Covid-19. The number of trauma admits are way down because people aren't doing the things that tend to lead to trauma admits. New York has a couple hundred people a day dying at home--10x normal.

Oh, you can get a trauma admission from things you do in your own home. Especially if people who are no craftspeople whatsoever take their first go at home improvement during the lockdown.

So, hospitals should not be ghost towns, then?

You're flip flopping now.

Nope, but I'm sorry you can only think in either/or scenarios. You're going to be completely wrong a lot of times in your life.

People's appendix burst every day. People's kidneys shut down every day. People get involved in deadly house accidents every day.

Between all these and the cases of corona, the hospitals really should be chaotic warzones. Yet, they are not. A lot of them you could paste a tumbleweed into the picture.

And the morons doing the filming aren't seeing these because they're outside. Covid-19 patients also tend to have long hospital stays--more going on inside for the number who walk in the door. A Covid-19 patient spends more time in the hospital than I have in my life. No visitors = the visitor entrance has tumbleweeds. No non-emergency cases means most things a hospital does aren't happening. The shutdown means a lot fewer trauma cases.

Analysis: America can't beat the coronavirus crisis until we fix what really ails us - CNNPolitics
The US is one of the most unequal nations in the world, according to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, outranked by only a smattering of countries -- Bulgaria, Turkey, Mexico, Chile, Costa Rica and South Africa. The coronavirus pandemic and resulting economic shutdown is likely to increase the gap between the haves and have-nots, and doctors and public health experts say socioeconomic status is playing a role in whether a person will survive the disease.

...
While John Hopkins University's Global Health Security Index may have ranked the US first out of 195 countries in several areas of pandemic preparedness, it gave the country much lower scores in other key areas. America ranks 175th, for example, when it comes to health care access, which looks at things like out-of-pocket health expenditures per capita and whether a country has mandated universal health care coverage.

Coronavirus economy could burst America's big-city rent bubble
The gridlocked coronavirus economy could upend housing from coast to coast, bursting national apartment rents that have risen by 150 percent over the last decade, experts say.

Yet the situation will likely do little to alleviate the housing crisis, because the more than 16 million Americans who filed for unemployment insurance in the last three weeks will still need roofs over their heads, say economists and affordable housing advocates.

Trump v the states: how the president is remaking the government in his image | US news | The Guardian
When Donald Trump begrudged federal aid for Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria, and for California during its deadly 2018 wildfires, and blamed those places for those natural disasters, even Republicans were shocked.

None could recall a president publicly complaining about the federal disaster relief role, or expressing resentment towards the victims.
Shows how petty he is.
“All I want them to do, very simple, I want them to be appreciative,” Trump has said of state governors.

And: “It’s a two-way street. They have to treat us well, also.”

And: “Frankly they were, many of the states, they were totally unprepared for this. So we had to go into the federal stockpile, but we’re not an ordering clerk. They have to have for themselves.”
What a big baby. He deserves the 25th Amendment.
“You’ve redefined the role of state governors,” said David Super, a professor at Georgetown Law. “Governors must grovel to the president. Governor [Gavin] Newsom [of California], Governor Andrew Cuomo [of New York] have understood that, and they’re doing it. Governor [Gretchen] Whitmer has largely refused, and Michigan is going through hell as a result.

“These governors are more like provincial chiefs under this system, and if we want to restore federalism in this country we will have to make some very dramatic changes after this is over. If we don’t, federalism is dead.”
That's a very unbusinesslike attitude, wanting flattery and groveling more than anything else.

States are mostly on their own in handling covid because this "wartime president" has bonespurs of the brain. Hopefully, the states will ignore any stupid directives he will be giving.

PPE and Ventilators Becomes Patronage in Trump’s Hands | Talking Points Memo
As we work to find out the scope and goals of the White House’s seizure of medical goods across the United States, a simpler pattern is coming into view: the White House seizes goods from public officials and hospitals across the country while doling them out as favors to political allies and favorites, often to great fanfare to boost the popularity of those allies.
In an administration distinguished by moral ugliness, it is hard for it to top its previous outrages.

Some days back, the Federal Government seized 500 ventilators bound for Colorado. Then it sent 100 ventilators at the request of Senator Cory Gardner (R-CO).
Indeed, we still don’t whether this is all a central part of the White House’s crisis strategy – grabbing supplies from blue states to hand out to endangered Republicans or red state allies – or simply a layering of corruption over the general chaos.

New examples of confiscations or rerouted orders crop up almost every day. Here’s one about a shipment of test kit materials bound for the PeaceHealth hospital system in the Pacific Northwest seized and shipped, purportedly, to the East Coast.

Like you're going to get a straight answer...

You're dealing with a person who disbelieves the reporting from hospitals for no other reason than it is being done by "the media." To hear Halfie tell it, hospitals are (if anything) less busy than normal. Emergency room doctors and nurses are lollygagging around waiting for something to do, because "the media" takes a report from hospital workers that say "nope, nothing to see here" and turns it into "it's a chaotic warzone!!!"

The fact that there are (as of this moment) over 20,000 deaths in the US from the virus? Halfie thinks that's a lie, too. The source for all his information? He doesn't need a source, because it's all the fault of "the media." This is batshit insane, but that's what you're dealing with.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that tomorrow, Halfie will be in the church crowded around fellow faithful, shaking hands and hugging just to "trigger the libs."

i doubt Halfie attends. He's a Combative Christain, not a member of The Faithful. He and His God are more satisfied by Halfie sticking it to the Godless Left than by sittingbthru a boring sermon about foregiveness and sacrifice.

That's why he knows dick about what's actually in The Books.

Hospitals are postponing any elective surgeries. Ironically, this is resulting in the laying off of a lot of hospital employees.
