US President 2016 - the Great Horse Race

Well, she's a few months away from running his country. It's actually ok to be fairly obsessed with positions she has that he disagrees with.

Well, it's seems a little weird. I don't see the same level of personal hatred for Bush and Trump. I see the same level of personal hate towards Obama also from many posters. However, I think that it's very presumptuous to assume that Hillary will beat Trump.

Oh, there was an awful lot of hatred towards Bush and there's a lot towards Trump. It's just that with Clinton, the hatred has had a couple of decades to marinate so it's more focused on her in general as opposed to just her positions because people have already gotten past that and moved on to a general dislike.

Also, I don't assume Clinton will beat Trump, I conclude it based on overwhelming data to support the conclusion. Congress is up for grabs, not the Presidency.

The problem is treating the matter of who will lead us like a horse race in the first place and letting corporations fund their favorite horses.
Issues all get personalities attached to them based on how much they are paid to either present or attack them. Clinton is a prime example of what is wrong with American politics. I will NEVER VOTE FOR HER.:sadyes:

There is irrational irony here. The issue of corporate financing of campaigns has become a SCOTUS issue since the Citizens United ruling in 2010. At this point if you want any meaningful campaign finance reform electing Clinton is your only hope.

What is the most successful socialist nation? Great Britain? Canada? NZ? Or even Aus.

Believe me that there are plenty of pretty strong capitalist pigs in Canada and Great Britain!

Would you agree that you are a tad bit obsessed with Hillary?

You don't seem to have a grip on the reality of what the woman has done....how many people are dead because of her. A country that gives its people two hated lying politicians to choose between is disrespecting its citizenry. If you cannot feel you have voted for a person committed to principles you believe in,then your vote actually means more nothing than voting third party. Any ally of Netanyahu is no friend of mine. Any person that tampers in Haitian politics to oppose a 60 cent minimum wage is not worthy of either my respect or my vote. You don't have to vote for people whose policies you oppose. If you do that you have no right to be disappointed that they did not satisfy your wishes. I won't be voting for Trump either.

Very wise. If they won't do things exactly how you want them to, you should take your bat and your ball, and go home to cry to mummy about how they were all doing representative democracy wrong except you.

Clinton is not a hope for anything but her covering up her indescretions. Clinton is a corporatist and her contributors quietly rule her agenda regardless of whatever comes out of her lying mouth.

None of those have collectivized the ownership of the means of production, so none of them are Socialist.
They pretty took the better parts and incorporated them into their systems, like the US. In general, the best system is a socialistic minded capitalism.

Never the less she is the only hope for meaningful campaign finance reform in your lifetime. Sorry.

Quietly rule her agenda? In what universe is it "quietly"?

Trump held a rally last night. Apparently the stadium was half empty.

A natural progression because the primaries are over? Or are his fans finally wising up?

And a message to Mitt Romney: "Trickle-down" doesn't work. Not for economics, and not for racism. Donald Trump is simply allowing his fans to express the bigotry already inside them. Other than that quibble, I agree:

"I don't want to see trickle-down racism," Romney said in an interview here in a suite overlooking the Wasatch Mountains, where he is hosting his yearly ideas conference. "I don't want to see a president of the United States saying things which change the character of the generations of Americans that are following. Presidents have an impact on the nature of our nation, and trickle-down racism, trickle-down bigotry, trickle-down misogyny, all these things are extraordinarily dangerous to the heart and character of America."

It's because super smart businessman Donald is running this campaign exactly the same as the primary, and that schtick won't work now. If you watch Trump and listen closely, it's pretty easy to see he doesn't understand the demographics of the situation. He's expecting the same er, YUGE numbers with the country as he did with his base. It's a rookie mistake, and I for one find it hilarious.

Is it a mistake when he doesn't really even have a strategy to begin with, other than harangue detractors?

Netanyahu has committed the grand crime of defending the only Jewish state. Right there in that statement you're showing true colours!
