US President 2016 - the Great Horse Race

I am in Australia and I am already sick of hearing about the long winded comedy show known as presidential race. We can miniaturise so many things now. Could you miniaturise your politics please? Something less than 100 days would be nice.

Try living with it. I saw Lewis Black perform over the weekend and some of the jokes we laughed and I thought, this isn't funny! Yes, I'm laughing, but more as a stress relief mechanism, not because he just said something ridiculous.

The presidential race is a circus, and the candidates are the clowns.

Oh, goody! I do so love circuses. Especially the lion tamers, tell me there will be lion tamers. Please, tell me it's true!

Yes, her name is Hillary Clinton. She will whip all the annoying animals who want to be in the ring with her and have them skulk back off the stage with their tails between their legs.

Iowa has historically been a lousy predictor of who will when the presidency. Perhaps you mean Ohio? Another 4-letter Vowel heavy state, but a more populous and more typical one.

And note the difference between the primary and general election wins. Most people who win the presidency do in fact win Ohio in the general elections.

Agreed, especially if you live in swing state. Even more so if you live in a swing area of a swing state.

LOL you misspelled 'Clinton'.
She drew with the socialist Sanders didn't she? Cruz was a clear winner.

Cruz got a smaller percentage of votes than either. That's not a 'clear winner', particularly in US politics, where there is no indication of preference flows.

To be a clear winner in a US Presidential race, you have to get more than 50% of votes cast.

Angelo seems pretty clueless on US politics

And winning the primary caucus in Iowa is little better than flipping a coin as far as prediction even who the eventual nominee for each party will be let alone the next Prez.

Iowa's non-predictive powers:
2012 Sanatorium won Iowa
2008 Huckaloogie won Iowa
2000 They did get the Shrub right
1996 Dole won Iowa, but failed to defeat a Clinton
1992 Bush Sr. won unopposed...so not shocking; but then lost to a Clinton
1988 Dole won Iowa, but ...yeah fail

Right winger antics. It seems a lot of people are claiming Cruz lied about Carson dropping out to scuttle his chances and switch delegates to Cruz. "Cruz is a Liar! Liar! Liar!" Some right wing talk show hosts are trying to debunk all of this. Its a real circus. Some are saying the rumor was not floated by a Cruz operative, but somebody from Rubio's campaign. This should keep them all busy for a week.

He was the clear winner in the GOP. Clinton almost drew with Sanders.

He won one more delegate than Trump and Rubio. Clinton actually walked away with 8 more delegates thanks to bonus Super Delegates.

In the pathetic candidates category:

Jeb having to tell his supporters when to clap.

Santorum, after endorsing Rubio for President, cannot name a single accomplishment of Rubio's.

OK, but how come no one has made note of how fucking strange Carson is for taking a break for a few days during a critical time for his campaign to get a change of fresh clothes? Or are we so used to him being outright weird no one thinks anything of it anymore? When I first heard that, I have to admit, I thought it was Carson suspending his campaign.
