Split Biden or Trump too old?

To notify a split thread.
Whales are sensitive t
Really??? You're actually believing that load of horse pucky???
Those blades are huge and loud, sounds travel long distances in water, and whales are sensitive to sound. So it is at least plausible.

It certainly is something that should be investigated seriously, and not dismissed just because of the imperative to have 100% renewable energy by some particular date.
Whales are sensitive to sound.

Iran's governance is flawed, but there are subpolities in the Western Hemisphere which also suffer from the same flaws as Iran.
Like who?
[*]Deny rights to women; in particular criminalize abortion. CHECK.
Going back to pre-RvW state-by-state laws on abortion is hardly comparable to forcible hijab and executing adulterers. FAIL.
[*] Disqualify voters and use other rule changes to help incumbents win re-election. CHECK.
All electoral system disqualify some votes.
Otoh, Iran does not have any meaningful elections. FAIL.
[*]Allow corrupt judges to serve on the highest court. CHECK.
How do you define "corrupt" here?
*]Some leaders declare that State is subservient to Church. CHECK.
Some leaders declaring that is different than it being law of the land and there being a clerical "supreme leader" in charge above the office of the president. FAIL.
[*]Promote school curricula which indoctrinate children. CHECK.
You mean things like woke math or reparations math? Still not comparable to what's going on in Iran, but PARTIAL CHECK at least.
[*]Ban books said to be pornographic or otherwise "bad." CHECK.
Would be a violation of the First Amendment in the US. FAIL.
[*]Help finance terrorist regimes and organizations. CHECK.
BS. FAIL.
Yes, many regimes are as "evil" or corrupt as Iran.
All countries have flawed. Not many are as evil and corrupt as the regime in Tehran.

Iran is treated as special by right-wing ignorati because of their "Death to America" chants.
It's not ignorant to treat your declared enemies differently than others.
But these chants are due in large part to America's own anti-Iran rhetoric.
No. That shit started as soon as the ayatollahs took power. Remember, they stormed our embassy and took people hostage .We did not storm their embassy and took their people hostage.

Biden is correct to encourage economic and financial ties with salvageable regimes.
What makes you think they are a "salvageable regime"?
But the Trump Administration should also get some credit. Didn't they negotiate a $3 Billion investment in America's hedge-fund industry from the corrupt Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia? $3 Billion in FUNGIBLE money, as Derec might say.
Big difference being is that, for all their faults (and they are legion) Saudis are our allies while the regime in Tehran are our enemies.

I’ve always been a bit bemused by the right’s demonization of adherents of Islam considering many of them wholeheartedly embrace the same or very similar social policies.
Social conservatives maybe, although even with them, most are nowhere near as extreme as what goes on in Islamic countries like Iran or Afghanistan.
And of course, the converse is true as well. I am bemused and baffled at the Left's infatuation with Islam given Islam's track record on women's and LGBT rights.
Of course you forgot to mention the anti-gay/LGBTQ+ policies.
The regime in Tehran hang people for being gay. Of course, US is just as bad if not worse. </sarcasm>
For a group that seems to be horrified by Sharia law, much of the GOP certainly does embrace most of its tenents…..
It's "tenets". And no, GOP is nowhere near as extreme on social conservatism as Islamists in Iran, Somalia, Afghanistan, Gaza Strip etc.

I should feel very flattered that you spent the time to respond sentence-by-sentence. I hope you are also flattered to learn that I scrutinized your response as well, spending more than a micro-hour of study on each and every sentence.

While you're here, can you help settle a bet? These are yes/no questions; you need not write a long essay; just Y or N will do.

If AOC describes herself as "socialist" or even "Marxist" is it reasonable or fair to call her a "self-described communist"? (The question is NOT whether she IS or is not a communist, but whether the phrase is reasonable or fair.)

If AOC describes herself as a "former bartender" is it reasonable or fair to call her a "self-described former bar-girl?"

If someone describes himself as supporting right-wing politics is it reasonable to call him a "self-described ignoramus"?

I don't have one so, unlike you, I listen to the experts.
Experts have differed on this point.
I may not have an economics degree, but I understand enough about economics to realize that those experts who claim that dumping $3.5T into an already overheated (from COVID stimulus) economy would not be inflationary are trying to sell you some oceanfront property in Reno.

I always try to. That's why I often fall behind on threads.

1 μh = 3.6 ms. Not very flattered.

Not all questions are amenable to quick yes or no.

Socialist: N
Marxist: Y
If AOC describes herself as a "former bartender" is it reasonable or fair to call her a "self-described former bar-girl?"
Y.
Why are you so obsessed with her bartending days anyway? And not even on the official "it's not love, it's obsession" AOC thread.
But just for you, here she is:
5cf27f3911e2054c8228c5b2

I hope that satisfies your "barmaid Sandy" jonesing for today at least.

If someone describes himself as supporting right-wing politics is it reasonable to call him a "self-described ignoramus"?
N. One does not follow from the other.

Question for you:
If someone describes himself/herself as supporting so-called "Modern Monetary Theory", is it reasonable to call him/her a "self-described economic ignoramus"?

The air-water junction reflects most all sound.

Strange that you never said anything about Trump's 8 trillion dollar "spendapalooza", as you call it.

Inflation almost quadrupled in 2021, Trump's last budget year and the the third largest deficit in US history.

Since you are so caught up in inflation fears, it's quite strange you never said a peep about the situation then. And you wonder why people think of you as a conservative. You're the living embodiment of Jude Wanniski's Two Santa Claus theory.

Infatuation? The left-wing is infatuated with Islam, but the alt-right and "liberals" are the ones who seem to always bring it up. I don't recall seeing "How awesome is Islam" threads in the religion sub-forum.

When you say infatuated, what you are observing are people that 1) don't, by default, equate Islam with murder and 2) don't hand wave Christian meddling (to be kind) in the Middle East and 3) remember that historic race and identity based bigotry and violence doesn't go that far back in our own history.
Of course you forgot to mention the anti-gay/LGBTQ+ policies.
The regime in Tehran hang people for being gay. Of course, US is just as bad if not worse. </sarcasm>
Yes, we know, the radical regime running Iran and Afghanistan are socially backwards. We are also saying your ideas on how to manage it are shit.
Terribly low bar. They do want to outlaw abortion, make women work in the home, undo gay marriage rights, ban dancing (is that still a thing?).

This whining from the right wing is just, well, old.

Ok, Biden is old.

Trump is....*deep breath* ... old, a criminal, a fraudster, a misogynistic adulterer, juvenile, demonstrating ACTUAL cognitive issues, a compulsive liar, and so many other redeeming qualities.

I mean, those must all be redeeming for ya'll to still be sucking his tiny, mushroom knob, no?

Good question for @DeplorableInfidel

Such infantile questions are better suited for dimwits. You’re thus in your own element.
