"Me Too" Judge Roy Moore

I disagree that a testimony without corroboration should be sufficient evidence for anything more serious than a small claims trial.

I didn't say it was sufficient proof for court by itself. I was disagreeing with your claim that it was simply a case of "he said, she said" as though the the women's words and Moore's words are equally credible. They're not.

But we are not even dealing with testimony here, just public accusations. A proper testimony is under oath, and with defense counsel able to cross-examine the accuser. None of these things apply here.

But we're not in court, other than the court of public opinion. The due process of criminal courts is a standard necessary before you lock someone up. We can still form opinions outside court, duh.

If those are the only two pieces of "evidence", a "did not" defense should automatically negate a "did too" accusation, obviously.

Wrong, for reasons already stated and that you haven't answered.

And in this case, the women's testimony
She did not testify.

Yes, they did, they talked to reporters and talked on camera. 'Testimony' doesn't only mean something spoken in court or under oath. Stop pretending we can't say anything about accusations outside of court.

(even without the corroborating testimony of friends and documents)
What friends and documents?

Read the articles.

Did any of her friends see an assault? Would be news to me.
And what documents? You mean the yearbook? Even if genuine, it would only conform Moore had an interest in the girl (platonic or otherwise) when she was above the age of consent. It is not in any way evidence of sexual assault.

The friends' testimony and the documents (including court records) corroborate facts of her story, that lend credence to her allegations. Don't be so disingenuous or ignorant so as to argue that the only evidence that counts, even in court, is direct eyewitness testimony of the alleged act.

is far more convincing that Moore's ludicrous denials.
I do find much about Moore ludicrous, but the idea that he could be victim of politically or financially (esp. the yearbook accuser, since she is represented by Gloria Alred) motivated false accusations is not one of them.

You keep bringing up Allred as though there is something shameful or nefarious about hiring her. How many of her clients have been shown to be lying about these kind of accusations? This is just another of your desperate, empty, kneejerk attempts to defend accused men.

We don't know if they are telling the truth either.

None of us were witnesses, that is true.

If they are lying, it's an extremely long con, involving many security people who were charged with monitoring Moore's behavior and access to young girls.

It's pretty credible.

Well, this access to a 12-year-old girl was definitely monitored: http://www.newsweek.com/after-roy-m...ault-pro-trump-group-sends-12-year-old-743798

This song is for tomorrow's election

Feel free to alter the lyrics to fit Roy Moore

All of them are lying but Roy Moore? There are now 9'accusers with 50 supporting witnesses. Moore admitted to dating them on Hannity and now he's changed his story several times and said that he doesn't know any of them. The evidence is overwhelming. Roy Moore is a pedophile pervert. He's also unqualified to be a US senator.

I misspoke, I should have said that I don't know if they are telling the truth.

Watching the news this morning over coffee with my wife, we actually laughed at that one... and we went on a rip that went like this:

I'm not racist, I have a black guy shine my shoes for me every morning.
I'm not racist, I pay a Mexican to cut my lawn once a week.
I'm not racist, I hire Indians to handle my phone tree overflow

How are you guys "not racist" too?

How are you guys "not racist" too?

I live in an area where black folk are rare as hens' teeth. Lots of Hispanics, but virtually no African Americans.
Yet, my most trusted contractor is a network architect and security expert who has worked on network security at the highest levels of government. A brilliant man, and a superb manager of a team that performs above and beyond expectations day in and day out... and yes - he's a black guy. Maybe I'm a racist because he's about the only black guy I know in this area... but I can't help that.

Sadly, we probably have to explain why the "black friend" defense isn't valid.

If you use your friends as a human shield against accusations of bigotry, you're not a friend. That's not what friends are, and that's not what friends do. If you were really a friend, you would love your life in such a way that no one would think to accuse you of bigotry against your friend's demographic.

You didn't answer the question.
I'm not racist because I let Mexicans serve me my meals when I'm in Cozumel.
I had a latino lawyer once, too, but that doesn't count 'cuz he spoke perfect American English.

If you watch the video of her speech, it comes across to me that she is trolling the media (and liberals) with her statement about having a Jew lawyer. I think she's well aware that people get their panties in a bunch whenever a conservative mentions their minority friends. In the video below, she stares straight ahead, waves and grins just before she says it (around the one minute mark).

She's not joking, she starts out talking about black friends before that.

Coming off as a racist anti-semite is a sure way of trolling people. On the other hand, do you think that will help Roy Moore get votes or lose them?

I don't think it will have any effect. Everyone had pretty much made up their minds at that point.

Ah, that is fine until one ventures into something like politics.

And whether Moore's wife is telling the truth for this example, still doesn't prove he isn't a bigot in some other aspect she just isn't mentioning here.

Actually, she's demonstrating her own bigotry pretty well and by extension, confirming his.
I'll grant you that there is certainly smoke here.
