Does a Large Part of the Russian Population suffer from Stockholm Syndrome?

That needs amending. It's been 2 years of angry farmland grandmas, molotov cocktails, and outdated US military hand-me-downs taking out the very best of Russia's top notch advanced military.
Oh oh...
Now lets talk about the Russian Black Sea fleet.

Tell me more. I end up getting a lot more Air Force and Army info than Navy; I don't have any Navy family or friends.

Is it really a “fleet” any more? Its flagship sitting in Davy Jones’ locker, 20 percent plus of its units destroyed and the rest in retreat, it’s really just a ragtag floating junkpile.

At some point we should also talk about China's "Navy" as well. Just to round it out ;)

My interntz is terrible.
There's lots of information with links in the thread on the subject.

I made a comment elsewhere about how Russia and China have lied about their military size and capabilities for years... and so has the US. It's just turned out that we've lied in opposite directions.

Also The Spanish Armada to add an historical dimension.

Yep. I mean, at one point Poland was "part of Russia." Does that mean Putin would be right to start bombing Warsaw? Barbos probably thinks so.

Oh, and Barbie, we're coming up on the 2 year anniversary of the invasion. The invasion that was supposed to defeat Ukraine in a long weekend of easy combat. Two years, champ. It's been 2 years.

Well, not exactly. The US started training Ukraine's military in 2014. Ukraine was still for all intents and purposes relying on the old Soviet system of command and control, where in order to get anything done, you had to send it up the food chain to a general somewhere. That went out the window, and they changed to a more modern arrangement with greater autonomy at the battlefield level. They were also given the benefit of the US's hard-won experience in urban warfare. What's more, the US taught them to treat every soldier as a precious resource, so everything they do is focused on getting the most out of each and every one, while Russia is still stuck on the old "just throw a bunch of grunts at the problem" approach, This, and the weapons, is how a smaller, less well-equipped force has managed to hold off the "fearsome Russian bear" for so long.

I didn't intend to downplay the value of the training we've provided. It was just more humorous to point out that one of the world's "best militaries" is getting their asses kicked by a smaller force using a lot of improvisation and old equipment.

Every forum has their resident Russian apologist and they all say pretty much the same thing. I have yet to encounter a Russian who has lost a loved one in Ukraine, or doesn't feel heartfelt loyalty to Putin. I haven't seen any of them complain about the money that was poured into Putin's military modernization plan, only to have Russian fathers, husbands and sons, dying in T-72 tanks. This tank was first seen in 1969, and apparently is still in production.

I have seen videos of Russians in their apartments with icicles hanging from the light fixtures, but apparently, none of them have internet connections.

Meh. If Russians are fine with Putin, that's fine. It's more about how Ukrainians feel about Putin
It does not matter what they think about Russia or Putin. It literally does not. They have been fed lies for 30 years.
The same is with you, you have been fed lies. They need to be invaded and forcibly reeducated.

You can't possibly think that Poland is likely to side with Russia.
True, but they are not siding with ukro-nazis either.

I don't think Russia is "lying". That implies intent. Rather, I believe what we are seeing is the corruption that plagues their system. Many things were there only on paper. And many other things actually existed but weren't maintained--think of all those tires that failed because the vehicles hadn't been moved around.

Then we have Russia thinking it's an easy victory while the Ukrainians fought smart. Don't fight that tank column, kill it's logistics. Tanks without fuel are low quality pillboxes.

What are you two talking about? Seriously?

Your analysts were claiming that Russia would run out of cruise missiles in April 2022. For fuck's sake.
Russian government hardly ever reports their military size and capabilities, they prefer not talking to lying.
It was you who analyzed the shit out of garbage which had no relation to reality.

For these of you who might decide to emigrate to Russia to try Stockholm Syndrome, interesting video from an american living in ..... Crimea.

Yeah, russian bureaucracy is annoying, I can compare US with Russia.

Yalta part of Russia is a Tuscany climate and view wise.
About language test, I can add that language test is mostly against Central Asia migrants. For westerners it's unnecessary complication which is probably ignored in practice.

Lots of recent western expats quote religious reasons and in particular transgender nonsense in the west.
Russia is not that religious, but it is decades behind the west in transgender nonsense.

Russia is fighting an insurgent invasion. It is ridiculous. That is what he is talking about

And bunch of ignorant american imperialism apologists, like yourself,
There's nothing wrong with being an apologist. There are certainly a lot of things about Russian thought which needs to be explained.

For example, Russian military forces have an average casualty rate of 500 per day since the start of the special military operation. Who is responsible for this? Who do you think is to blame for this, or is no one to blame because this is an acceptable casualty rate?

If you think 500 is too large a number, how many Russian men have died in Ukraine. according to statistics available to the Russian public?

Lol, so sayeth the imperialist supporter...

Seriously - do you understand that Russia is the one engaging in imperialism here? They're the one who invaded a neighboring independent country and tried to forcibly occupy them.

I say "tried" because you guys haven't done a very good job of it.
