Folks on the left have asked "which one is it? Is Joe Biden a doddering old man suffering from dementia, or is he an evil mastermind pulling the strings of a vast conspiracy?"
It goes deeper than that. You might as well ask "which one is it? Is Hunter Biden a coked-up waste of space, or an evil genius who can get away with anything?" Well, it's both...for both! That's the Biden Crime Family's secret super power! Yes, they appear to be boring, borderline incompetent, and middling, but they've been behind it all the time! Illuminati? Bohemian Grove? Every sinister conspiracy you've ever heard of?

They failed because Beau and Hunter survived, but...don't you think it's suspicious that Beau died early as well? Was it "cancer?" The investigation of Hunter Biden is being done on public funding in a legislature of elected representatives, so the public has a right to hear the testimony that is considered so relevant to its lawmaking duties. There is no compelling reason why his testimony has to be done behind closed doors, especially if it bears on the conduct of the president.
