How should west respond to potential (likely) Russian invasion of Ukraine?

You understand that what you so adorably call "NATO aggression" is countries with sovereign borders knowingly and willingly joining NATO because of illegal Russian aggression, right?
Montenegro!
Oh good. It's official then. Putin and barbos are fucking terrified of the prowess of the Montengran military.

Although to be fair considering Russia's efforts in the last couple of years, they should be.
Montenegro entered NATO neither willing nor really knowingly. I mean it was known that they didn't want to enter it.

Now, back to serious reporting.
It was reported that younger generation of ukro-commanders are expressing their dissatisfaction with General Syrsky operation in Kursk, specifically with the fact that one of the brigades was taken out of Pokrovsk were ukrainian forces are experiencing collapse. General Syrsky who is ethnic Russian from mainland Russia and has family there has a reputation for not caring about losses.

Apparently besides border guards and 18 year old conscripts ukro-regime took literal civilians as hostages. Reminds Hamas attack.

To be fair, they're both strapping blokes, and one has a mean looking dog.

WORST PERIOD IN RUSSIAN HISTORY

A young woman telling the truth about the Russian society. She speaks a lot in the 90s, but it did not change much in the 20s. And the Master & Slave attitude is still there. The corruption is in the bones of the top administration and down.

Can you imagine the top brass of a ministry as a drug dealer? A prisoner that does signs the paper of volunteering to the front, because he is told if he does not, they put him in a cell with rapists - or worse. Nothing has changed. It is not shown that openly today - but the people know.

My view of NATO:
Personally I do not always like NATO - the Afghan war was a disaster.
  • For Europeans, their only problematic neighbouring country is Russia. Russia will eventually learn the Western way of thinking and develop better morals, but this will take 4-5 generations.
  • From the perspective of the USA, the problems are dictatorships like Russia, China, and Iran. North Korea is also a problem, but it acts according to what China's diplomats dictate.
  • Russia's invasion of Ukraine is problematic in that countries like China and Iran are observing how strong Western coalitions and agreements are in practice, and they will act accordingly. The USA is in a key position here. Europe currently lacks sufficient industrial capabilities, but it has the money to support Ukraine, meaning it can buy weapons for Ukraine from the USA. However, Europe's fragmentation is a problem, which is why many European countries have made bilateral agreements with Ukraine.
  • If Ukraine had been a part of NATO, this entire war wouldn't exist. In this sense, NATO serves as a peacekeeper, and every dictator suffering from an inferiority complex won’t dare to challenge it when he feels strong. This is also why the West needs to demonstrate its strength to Russia.
  • There is much debate about NATO's expansion. The fact is that all of Russia's neighbouring states are themselves applying to join NATO. This is because they (we) all have experience with Russia's imperialist dominance. So, NATO is not pressuring anyone to join; rather, countries are applying to NATO.
  • If Ukraine were to lose the war, Moldova would be the next target for Russia's double-headed eagle. After that, the various -stans, with Kazakhstan being the largest and richest.

If I think about NATO from Finland's perspective, the advantages are as follows:
  • a) NATO troops will be stationed within Finnish Defense Forces units, at airfields, and in our Defense Forces facilities. This prevents Russia from attacking/bombing purely Finnish troops because American and other NATO soldiers would also perish.
  • b) Finnish and soldiers from other countries will adopt the same practices as the rest of Europe/NATO. Of course, there will also be Canadians in Finland.
  • c) Weapons and equipment will be standardized, including fighter jets.
  • d) Finland's defence industry will have access to enormous markets. (I will write more about this later.)
  • e) Finland will apparently take charge of a NATO centre to prevent/complicate Russian hybrid warfare.
  • f) Being a member of NATO will largely guarantee peace in Finland (despite the BS and zstar-time maps on Russian state television).
It's important to always remember a few things:

  • Russia's GDP is on par with that of Italy. Or comparable to California's.
  • Russia is a very wealthy country, but it first needs to extract its natural resources and find markets for them. The Congo has a similar situation, but they already have markets to sell to.
  • Russia is in a situation where even its "best friends" refuse to trade in rubles.
  • The likely collapse of Russia is not far off. However, the people are already used to it.
  • Trade with Russia can resume once the regime changes—maybe in about 30-40 years.
  • The suffering of the Russian people will continue for several more decades.

09 Aug: It’s Happening! RUSSIANS RETREATING: Full Defense Mode Activated! | War in Ukraine Explained

Today, there are a lot of updates from the Kharkiv direction.
Here, intense combat continues in Vovchansk, with Ukrainian forces making slow but steady advances while Russian forces have officially announced a shift to a defensive posture in anticipation of a potential Ukrainian attempt to collapse Russian positions across the northern part of the city.

Although various map update sources show slight discrepancies, most information sources agree that Russian forces have completely withdrawn from their attempt to establish a stronghold in the wooded area south of the river, directly opposite the aggregate plant.

Recently published geolocated images show a group of Ukrainian soldiers walking along the road of the bridge just west of the wooded area. The Ukrainians move without apparent concern, indicating the complete absence of Russian forces in the vicinity.

Regarding the Aggregate Plant itself, Vitalii Sarantsev, a spokesman for the Ukrainian "Kharkiv" Group of Forces, confirmed in recent statements to the media that a small group of Russian soldiers remained blocked on the plant's territory. The spokesman stated that the number of Russian troops still trapped at the aggregate plant constantly decreases, with an estimated 40 soldiers remaining. Although they can still receive small amounts of food and ammunition delivered by unmanned aerial vehicles, they are completely blocked and unable to leave. Sarantsev noted that these soldiers' position is isolated from the main Russian force positions, as the Ukrainian army controls all approach paths to the plant.

In recent days, there has been an intensification of FPV drone attack operations on the aggregate plant. Geolocated footage shows numerous attempts by FPV drones to enter the plant's standing buildings, trying to detonate explosives from the inside. While images show success in some cases, in others, the drones were shot down by Russian soldiers just before reaching their targets. This sudden increase in Ukrainian activity at the plant, including both drone operations and the innovative ground drone attack described a few days ago, suggests, according to various analysts, that the start of a Ukrainian clearing operation throughout the aggregate plant area is approaching. The original, uncensored footage of these drone attacks can be found on our Telegram channel through the link in the description. Regarding the Citadel area, while there have been reports of Russian attempts to take positions in some of the high-rise buildings on the northern and eastern perimeters, Ukrainian advances have been confirmed around the adjacent streets to the south and southeast. This expands the Ukrainian control zone in the area and further compromises any Russian attempt to connect with the aggregate plant, suggesting that the Russians may have definitively given up on the aggregate plant and their next best option is to establish a stronghold in one of the citadel positions in an attempt to prevent the complete collapse of their defence in northern Vovchansk.

However, the most significant development has come from official Russian army communications. Official statements from the Russian Northern Group of Forces began in early August to describe their efforts in Vovchansk as "defensive" against what they termed a numerically superior Ukrainian force. Some analysts perceive this change in the narrative as preparation for a significant Ukrainian counterattack movement or even the possibility of withdrawal from substantial areas of Vovchansk. It's worth noting that Russian sources themselves had confirmed on various occasions that they have evidence of the continuous accumulation of Ukrainian forces on the Kharkiv front.

Confirming all of the above, recent publications by military analysts, using open-source databases on geolocations over a one-month time window, confirm the slow but progressive Ukrainian advance in northern Vovchansk. They conclude that the situation is likely irreversible for Russian forces, which will soon only be able to aspire to maintain positions in the northern part of the city, above the citadel line.

Despite the continuous Russian artillery, thermobaric ammunition, and glide bomb attacks in their attempt to undermine the Ukrainian logistics in their efforts to supply the forces in Vovchansk, the better knowledge of the Ukrainian terrain, as well as...

A fundraiser video in the end.
These are very common in Europe. In Finland alone, there are a few dozen fundraiser projects. Many of them collecting money for SUVs for UA. The cars are stuffed with all kinds of equipment, like hospital stuff, food, FPVs, jammers and such.

I heard about some guy posting on VKontakt and asking for money for the Ukrainian army (UA).
Just to keep FSB busy, I think. ;)

Space X will be taking us back to the Moon and on to Mars, where is Russia?
You completely missed the point.
My point is the west is going back to Moon and Mars, and Russia is still in a backwards antiquated militarism dragging Russia down.

Your space program is on par with your incompetent military.

As asked can you elaborate on what you mean by democracy, and what do you consider a good political system? Is Russia a good and just political system?

Watch Ukraine blitz ANOTHER Russian region as '400 of Putin's troops killed' in huge convoy ambush

9.8.2024
Ukrainian forces have made further attacks on the Kursk region in Russia. A munitions store, airport and huge convoy came under a brutal barrage by the AFU.

The main thing here is not how much UA has destroyed Putlers what-so-ever:

Ukrainian army is allowed to use Himars etc. in order to secure the borders of Ukraine. But now when Ukraine has begun "a special military operation" the borders are shifted and they used (according to some news) Himars to destroy a convoy as seen on the video...
Washington has given a green light to this - when UA asked about it AFTERWARDS.
What else could Washington have said without looking as chickening?

And now UA has shown that Putin's red line is again - just bullshit.
Enjoy the video:

In the the video above is a clip where Russians complain about the war: "The houses are in ruins, the children can't sleep etc." In the beginning of that clip they tell how they always have supported the war.
"Putin help us"

These propaganda believers do not understand that Putin and the rest of his fascist gang are not interested in what happens to people - Russian or Ukrainian. Neither do they - not before the war comes to their villages.
