Um...yes.
Real to the point that in some places the purists who think their souls would be happiest embodied in a tampon look down on those who would be satisfied with pads as 'wannabes' whose desires dilute the purity of tampon-kin, and make them look silly to others, like those who think the only valid 'kin' are other living things, such as wolves, panthers, oak trees, dolphins or horses.

I've never felt kinship with a thing. Once I danced alone with a single Manta Ray ... sometimes leading sometimes following but communicating through dance. How beautiful to dance through life and swim through food. Manta my kin. Well met cousin, well met.

The woman on the left is holding an assault rifle and a bible. She has never fired the rifle and never read the Bible. The woman on the right is holding an assault rifle and the Koran. She has fired the rifle, but cannot read the Koran.
