No, he was a bad guy with a gun who could have been stopped, and was, by good guys with guns. Sad that whenever we have a gun tragedy, anti-gun people quickly dance on the bodies of the dead to push their anti-gun agenda.
Okay folks, here is the deal, there isn't some sort of natural law that requires at least one good guy with a gun to be around where one bad guy is with a gun. Not some sort of positron is fucked because an electron will come in contact almost immediately and be eradicated.
This means that when a bad guy has a gun and is intent on murdering a lot of people, there is a good chance that there won't be a good guy with a gun to kill him first. After all, the bad guy has to start killing to make it clear he is a bad guy with a gun intent on killing lots of people (they don't wear special hats). So even if there is a good guy, there will be killing first before any suppression. And in the case of no good guy in the immediate area, lots of people can and will (and have) die(d).
I'm sorry that people that really love guns don't like hearing about it, but... yes, if those guns didn't exist, those people wouldn't have been killed. You need to accept that the solution to too many homicidal Americans with guns isn't armed guards at every damn building in the country. You just need to accept that this killing is going to happen, because we certainly aren't seeing the guns rise up and be raptured, and your support of those weapons is one of the reasons. The truth will set you free. It'll be depressing, but hey, at least you still have
your health, right?
