Perjury is a crime, though. Clinton committed a crime plain as day. Trump has not.
I'd have a lot more respect if Republicans grew some fucking balls and said, "Even a President should be held accountable for their actions." And you're right, a dangerous precedent is being set here. The next time a Democrat is voted in, they are allowed to use the State Department to smear political rivals, completely ignore anything Congress does (divine rule in other words) and basically use the Executive office to line their own pockets without fear of consequence.
