I finally got a photo of a beaver. My first. The beavers closest to me are just up the street from my parents old house at the Old Reservoir. But I haven't really been there first thing in the morning which is the best time to see them.
It was luck that at around 12pm today I was on my way for a walk at the reservoir that from the street I looked down and saw a brown blob in the water.
This is from about 320 feet away measured from Google Earth.
These beavers are a pain in the ass. The reservoir has an upper and lower pond bisected by a narrow earthen path with two "streams" that allow the water in the upper pond to flow into the lower pond and then out at the spillway. The beavers constantly block these streams so that the path floods and you can't hike the trail without waterproof boots.
