Merged So what's next for Trump?

To denote when two or more threads have been merged
A federal judge has ruled that Trump signed a court document that he knew included fraudulent voter fraud data. It was part of Judge David Carter's decision to release emails from Trump attorney John Eastman to Trump because they are evidence of a likely crime, specifically "conspiracy to defraud the United States". Politico speculates that the emails could also be used in the Georgia investigation.

Judge David Carter said:
This email, read in context with other documents in this review, make clear that President Trump filed certain lawsuits not to obtain legal relief, but to disrupt or delay the January 6 congressional proceedings through the courts,” Carter ruled.

I wonder how the dish of Orange Dummy is best "served"?

With papers, while giving a deposition, obviously.

So it seems Trump actually showed up for his Jean Carroll deposition. His lawyer stated Trump never invoked 5th amendment rights. No the question is, how many lies did Trump tell. Andhow many "I don't recalls". And will Trump ever be ordered to submit to a DNA test?

Donald Trump insisted Friday that investigative journalist Bob Woodward’s recordings of his multiple interviews with the former president, featured in Woodward’s upcoming audiobook, “belong” to Trump.

“We’ve already hired the lawyers to sue him,” Trump told Fox News host Brian Kilmeade Friday on his radio program. “Bob Woodward’s a very sleazy guy,” he added of the famed Watergate journalist.

SCOTUS shields Trump... for at least a moment.

Chief Justice John Roberts on Tuesday put a temporary hold on the handover of former President Donald Trump's tax returns to a congressional committee.
If the Government can compel a woman to endure pregnancy and give birth... why the fuck is the Government unable to get Trump's records?!

Because Trump and his sycophants have well and truly fucked the former American system of government.
The Republican credo is now “Elections are bad”.
Any electoral loss they may suffer is proof that elections are bad, and those losses must be corrected by any available means including violence.
When they assume control of the government (by cheating and/or violence) they will make sure to do away with the evil that is elections.
Use your imagination to figure out what they have in mind instead.

So when will Republicans propose laws to do away with elections? What would be the new way to get government representatives?

They don't need no steenkin' laws. They have guns.

What would be the new way to get government representatives?

Inheritance is always good... and everyone else can be appointed by the Leader. Just like China and NK. The only question is, would Junior or Ivanka make the better dictator?

It’s a serious question. The left keeps crying that democracy is over but I suspect we will continue to have elections. I am just curious what they think Republicans will do that will effective end democracy. Do you try ink that the majority of Americans would agree with not having elections at all? Or just more and more restrictive laws on the ways that elections are held that benefit demographically Republican voters? Or maybe we will see election counts that always turn up Republican winners without transparency about how the votes are counted? Do away with bi-partisan vote watching?

Certainly - at least for a while. Like Russia, which has long since abandoned any possibility of un-electing their dictator.

Start by installing "loyalists" in all the positions that control elections. That process is well underway already. If Republicans win big in a week, two years from now will be foregone.

No more than Russians do.

All of the above. Whatever succeeds for them. The Trump model is in full effect. Putin has been coaching him for years, on step-by-step dismantling of a representative government and staying in power. He is only out now because he's too stupid and cowardly to follow Putin's directions closely.. Putinism is now current Republican policy. In fact, it's really their ONLY policy, having no plan whatsoever for the economy, immigration or any of the other things they ostensibly complain about. Their real beef is ELECTIONS. As Trump says "Well, we're going to have to see what happens. You know that I've been complaining very strongly about the ballots, and the ballots are a disaster." He actually started complaining about elections a long long time before that. Even when he won. he complained about elections. Now it's SOP for Repubicans to claim fraud whenever they lose.

There's a case coming before the Supreme Court where state legislators propose choosing the state's electors themselves, over-riding the vote of the people and even over-riding the state's constitution.

Then there's gerrymandering, voter caging or, as was the case in Georgia before the last gubernatorial election, throw half a million mostly black people off the voter rolls shortly before the election.

You don't do away with elections. You make the elections fairer by making certain access to them is tightened to those you don't want to vote. You put people in charge of overseeing them and determining their legitimacy. You convince enough people that up is down and down is left.

.
But what will these “loyalists” actually do? Will they change the vote counts? Throw away ballots or results? What are the actual mechanisms they plan to use to *fix* the elections for Republicans? Can these types of activities really go unnoticed or unchallenged in our system?

What happens when a governor chooses not to certify the results of an election? Does that apply to all results even the ones Republicans may have one? Or can they say “when we won it was fair but where we lost was obviously fraudulent”? Do even regular Republicans (not MAGA types) think this is a good system for us going forward?

They are already trying to do this. It started 2 years ago.
