The Race For 2024

Harris is incapable of answering a question and is often times incoherent. She has been consistent in this regard.
even granting this as true,

You know it’s true.
I see you ignored the rest of my post. Presumably because you have no coherent response.
As usual, you presume wrong.
Then provide your coherent response to the rest of my post.
The rest of your post is irrelevant.
So, the fact that one candidate is less coherent than the other isn’t an issue for you. You seem concerned about Harris’ coherence so you’ll vote for the guy who is even more incoherent. It seems I presumed correctly. Your response itself is incoherent.
Your interchange is the triumph of hope over experience!

You didn’t say Harris is dumb, you just said she is stupid. Gotcha!
Nope, wrong again. I never said she was stupid. Read what I wrote fella.
You said “dopey”. I asked what you think it means. You said look it up. I did and it means “stupid”.

Now you’re acting all smug about some trivial semantic point you think you scored.

Whatevs, as you say.

Nobody is triumphing in this exchange.

Seriously?
You refer to Harris as dopey, incoherent, train wreck. But instead of explaining your reasoning you get your panties in a wad because someone condensed that down to "dumb"?
Tom
Since you seem to have missed this post somehow.

Sure, Jan, you did.

About a woman is a lawyer, was SF district attorney, attorney general of the state of California, senator from California, vice president of the United States and now a candidate for president.

How impressive is your resume, Jan? Are you the weather reporter in Santa Monica, by chance?

Are you the weather reporter in Santa Monica, by chance?
Well there’s a job anyone can do!
Unless you have to include a surf report.
Do you get a surf report with the weather, Swiz?

Looking at the transcript, Harris brings up Trump a handful of times when not in reference to Baier mentioning Trump, which he does 11 times himself.

Rearranged these words to form a well known saying;

At clutching straws

Harris is incapable of answering a question and is often times incoherent. She has been consistent in this regard.
If you are clutching at straws, just come out and say it. Such honesty wouldn't lower anyone's opinion of you; Quite the reverse.

I doubt it could go any lower.

I do not, and it's unlikely that this will be widely reported on, being fairly business-as-normal for DC.
If a bunch of protesters on horseback were blocking a thoroughfare and were dealt with forcefully, it should be reported somewhere.
No commonly recognized rights were violated, what the police did was legal and unremarkable. You can read about the campaign itself here, if you like.
Oh boy!

The ‘Trail of Truth’ was led by the chairwoman of that west coast tribe that’s looking for the federal government to officially recognize their tribe and culture.
Why should a tribe be "federally recognized"? I think the whole concept is corrupt. It was a mistake to give Amerindians citizenship without at the same time dissolving treaties and corporate federal recognition. Indians should be either sovereign or Americans, not both. I think Indians overall (except for the extremely wealthy casino Indians that still enjoy tax-exempt status - why don't they have to pay their fair share?) have fared worse under the system that deals with them collectively rather than as individuals.
“The only way that we can find solutions is unity to bring back the balance because it’s the earth. we don’t fight because we want the land, we fight because we are the land,” said Iyolopixtli.
They are the land? What does that even mean? Reminds me of what Moe Szyslak said once: "Well, I'm better than dirt. Well, most kinds of dirt. I mean, not that fancy, store-bought dirt. That stuff's loaded with nutrients. I can't compete with that stuff.".
Tribal members said gaining recognition would not only end the erasure of their culture but it would help them access vital resources like healthcare and education.
They already have access to healthcare and education. What they want is extra access to healthcare and education that other Americans do not get.

I see. And look, they have horseys of their own!
But you did not comment on my objection that Deb Haaland should not give favor to her ethnic group (neither one of them btw!) when it comes to enforcing the law. You suggested that her Indian identity should have influenced how Park Police handled these Indians blocking the streets.
Figure of speech. The domains and prerogatives of government.
What "domains and prerogatives of government" did Trump seize as ex-president?

But it is slavery: they have no choice, cannot leave or quit. They get paid a pittance as did some enslaved people prior to 1865, along with room and board.
By that logic you could argue that imprisonment itself is "slavery". And that's what I think the end goal of these initiatives is - decarceration and prison abolition.

I have already given you my more nuanced opinion. Yes, prisoners should be paid more than they are, but at the same time prisoners are very costly to the taxpayers so it is understandable that their hourly pay is not as high as somebody on the outside doing the same work.
And no prisoner should be forced to do "outside" work like making license plater or fighting wildfires. However, working on things for prisoners: kitchen, infirmary, library, laundry is very different. Expecting prisoners to pitch in for their own services is no more "slavery" than expecting children to help out with chores is "child labor".

From my viewing of Harris' interview with Baier she was trying the technique noted by the Hon. Jim Hacker in Yes, Prime Minister.
Talking to the press S
tart at 2:00 or watch the whole clip.
Which shows that it is so unsurprisingly common of an occurrence by a politician that to take offense, real or feigned, at it is simply ignorance or pettiness.

Sure, but Trump supporters are not used to the idea of a politician behaving like a politician. They prefer a politician who behaves like a raving lunatic.
