Looks like the plateau is still rising. Record US deaths and critical cases now - a perfect time to "open things up" if your objective is to throw this country into years-long turmoil. But don't worry. Trump and his minions will find a way to blame the Democrats.

Some numbers are easier to fudge than others. Trump might like seeing fewer Covfefe-19 diagnoses, but he's probably too stupid to understand that falsely suppressing the numbers of cases raises the death rate.
Right now it stands (in the US) at 37% of "closed" cases.

Every day is groundhog day. Every evening the groundhog comes out, sees another thirty thousand new US cases and says "at least another two weeks of 2,000+ deaths a day!".
And trumpsuckers are laughing.
This is indeed the beginning of a slaughter. Real panic will set in when we can't all get food because the virus took out the food production and distribution systems. Without scientific intervention this will cut our numbers down significantly, and will destroy the creature comforts to which Americans in particular have become accustomed. It will be Trump starring as Mad Max in an apocalypse reality show of his own creation if he gets re-elected. If he gets kicked out in time and his crime family loses control of the Senate, there may still be hope.

It took 20 years to rack up that body count, and it was only accomplished with considerable help from hordes of N Vietnamese trained combatants.

Record number of US new cases today. I'll take that as a good sign, as it could be due to more testing and deaths are back under 20k today. Critical cases ticked up but only a little.
Wondering ... if really widespread testing reveals that almost every American has already had the Trump disease, what then? Do we assume we can "open up the economy" without risking overwhelming hospitals again?

Derangement can almost be defined as thinking Cheato is doing a good job.
If you understood the situation at all and wanted your orange judas to look good, you should be insisting on universal testing and a national stay-home policy until tests can be administered. The more positives that come out of it the lower the death rate and the easier to sell Cheato as doing a good job.
The very best outcome you could ever hope for is that it turns out that the entire nation tests out like the homes where everyone has been tested, and almost everyone is infected.
Obviously if 99.9% of the population has already been infected there's not much point in shutting anything down. But even if it's only say, 26 percent of the general public who are already infected, the Republicans will be able make the argument that everyone is going to get it so we might as well get the whole ordeal over with.
Of course that ignores the devastation that would be wrought on the whole healthcare establishment and the incremental deaths that would be entailed. But that kind of thing has never stood between Republicans and their money-making endeavors...

You really believe that? There have been talks of them doing mass executions of people so the numbers will go down. There's also been talks of riots in China due to the virus.
