I read Trump has stated we’d target 52 Iranian sites if Iran strikes back. That seems like an odd thing to say when the original attack was already to prevent war.

So, a way for a country to be safer is to have massive conventional weapons stock, nuclear stocks or make lots of high end finished goods especially electronics.
Having lots of raw extractable resources is often dangerous.

How are they not a threat to US? The entire raison-d-etre of the "Quds Force" (a designated terrorist organization by the way) is to wage jihad against the enemies of Islamist Iran. And they consider US (aka the Great Satan) their enemy number 1.

Iran would not be so stupid as to immediately attack in retaliation. They will start sending arms to Iraqi Shiite militias. War by Proxy. Send more material to Hezbollah and other proxy forces. Try to drive wedges between the US and allies, Trump out of control. This will subtle, and Iran will play a long game for its revenge. No big fire. Lots of little fires.

Start? They've been doing this for decades.
US should consider any attack by Hezbollah or any other Iranian controlled militia as equivalent to a direct attack by Iran. It's a distinction without a difference anway.
Our European allies were greedy wanting to trade with the weird beards. That's why they pushed Obama for the rotten nuclear deal (that removes sanctions but only prevents Iran developing nukes for 10-15 years).

Perhaps "environmental intent" would have been best.
Or they can create a command structure in which the organization continues to function when it's leader or any one component is removed. Each individual could ensure his immediate subordinate is fully capable of stepping in and doing his job if needed. So in this, killing a leader may do little more than benefit the organization if all it does is rally supporters.
I heard it said, Soleimani will be much more dangerous to the US dead than he ever was alive.

This means Iran will double down on their efforts to make trouble. Iran will cause as much trouble as possible for us and our allies. That will be their purpose in life for some years. it is not business as usual. Nukes? What would Iran do with nukes? Israel? They would retaliate with their own nukes. The US has it's nukes. Mutual Assured Destruction. Iran's goal.

I would guess that FFvC thinks that if he yells (ALL CAPS) enough, blusters enough, the Iranian govt. will back down in this escalation. Sadly, the Dotard has bluffed so much, lied so much, blustered then backed down so much, that the Iranians could miscalculate on FFvC's reaction. And/or FFvC will feel the need to not back down when Iran responds in the months ahead. There is enough stupidity here, that it could devolve into a real war. Not that we couldn't lay waist to Iran's infrastructure, but the question has always been 'just how long can Iran shut down 20-30% of the world's oil supply'...and just how bad will oil spike, and trigger a global economic slowdown...

So you anticipate the Quds Force is going to attack the US? Will it be drone bombing of US cities with no boots on the ground? Will they land troops in the US?

Oh I know, it keeps me shaking in my boots. Any day now Iran will launch a Normandy-style invasion in Virginia and march to Washington. Then we'll all be placed under Shia rule.
