Trump Will Likely Win

In 1953 Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were executed for selling nuclear secrets to the Soviets. Trump also engaged in massive espionage related activities with stealing highly classified documents (poor internal security by USA government), and instead of being in prison is offered the opportunity to be elected POTUS. Something is severely wrong with how the US is now run.
I guess all Trump supporters are looking forward to when China dominates due to American weakness.

Not. only is there a gender gap, but let's not forget that, "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." Trump is a terrible threat to women and other than white evangelical women, I don't know any women who have or will vote for Trump. And, I'm sure there are even some white evangelical women, who are like my late mother. She despised Trump and despite suffering from Alzheimers, when I told her that Trump was president around 2018, she screamed in horror and told me I had ruined her day.

And, the women I personally know do find Harris to be an inspirational candidate and I've read articles about some who decided to vote for her because they finally realized that Trump was a big threat to both them and the country. I'm not saying it's impossible for Trump to win, I just think it's more likely that he will lose, although he will never admit it. Let's hope I'm right.

And yes. it will be all about voter turnout. Two young Black men, one a banker and one a waiter promised me they would vote for Harris tomorrow. The mixed race couple who live next to me already voted for Harris. The old white woman on the other side of my house also voted for Harris on the first day of early voting here in Georgia. The old white man across the street from me and my bro in law in ATL voted for Trump. And sadly, there are Trump signs in my area, but none of my Black neighbors or friends are voting for Trump. We've discussed it with them. I've also met at least 3 white waitresses in town who are very excited about Harris. Don't give up hope yet.

You underestimate how Trump encourages turn out for both tickets.

I go back to the days when we used to put on concerts and music festivals. It was always a nail-biter. Advance ticket sales were a disaster for some shows. Promoters yelling at us when we'd only sold a few thousand tickets a few days before the event. Then the "walk-up" would blow all that out of the water, and instead of a few thousand, we'd wind up with ten thousand or more. I admit it's just a "vibe," but it seems like that to me right now.
I’ve learned not to bet on vibes. But I do understand it. It just seems utterly incomprehensible that anyone would vote for Trump. It’s utterly inconceivable that he could win. But here is an article that can sustain the good vibes:

One of the key indicators of Trump’s victory in 2016 was larger and enthusiastic turnout especially towards the end of the campaign. Maybe this is a sign that he doesn’t have that support this time around. People may be sick about him.

I really should read more optimistic articles.

I appreciate that, as I have considerable regard for your views and can really use some reassurance right now.

I thought Trump was anti China? But in any event, do you not remember Brandon and Newsom rolling out the red carpet and clearing out the homeless when hosting the Chinese dictator in San Francisco earlier this year?

To all yanks
We do not envy the choice you have to make (well those of you could be fagged voting)

There's the rub. They still - after all this time - don't grasp that Trump is not the "strong" leader that's going to dominate China, or Russia, or any other rivals. They don't understand that Xi, Putin, Kim, and others think Trump is an easily manipulated putz, and are thinking on longer time scales than he is.

Xi wants China to dominate the world...maybe not in his lifetime, but he wants that as his legacy. Putin wants to rebuild the "glory" of the former Russian Empire and be remembered alongside Peter the Great. Kim is carrying on the legacy of his forefathers going back 75 years.

Trump is thinking in terms of "did this latest episode of The Apprentice: White House get better ratings than this week's Law and Order spinoff?" He's transactional, but also thinks only in the very, very short term. That's part of the reason why it's so easy to manipulate him. His supporters are like that as well. "Ooh, I spent a little money and got a hat and a personal thank you email from Trump for supporting him!" "Ooh, I saved 10 cents a gallon on gas this week!" They can't think beyond immediate gratification. If he wins tomorrow, I guarantee that most of them don't grasp what a 2nd Trump term will mean for them, let alone what it will mean for the world.

My prediction, Harris will win & she'll (with Trumps help) turn Florida into a swing state next election.

That's the problem with so many in the US. They are short term thinkers and only worry about how doing x affects tomorrow and not 5 or 10 years down the road.

DeSantis is also turning Florida into a swing state. Even though he won his own last election with 59% of the vote. His authoritarian excesses have taken a toll.

See, if I was a Christian, I'd believe in miracles. That's what it would take to make Redneck Svengali go away forever. I think we're well & truly fucked.

In my view, the Republican Party is likely to face significant internal turmoil following a potential loss by Donald Trump. This could lead to intense internal conflicts as the party struggles to define its future direction. While Florida has experienced a substantial influx of Republican-leaning individuals, resulting in a voter registration advantage of over 1 million, this numerical edge may be inconsequential if the party remains divided and unable to present a cohesive platform.

Edit: Maybe not the next election, but moving forward? It's highly likely Florida would become a swing state thanks to the Trump is sent by God delusion.

You kidding? There is turmoil if he wins as well. In fact, worse turmoil. The remaining GOP that is old school are being phased out and a gaggle of cackling crows continue to fight for their position in the pyramid of power. Trump changed the rules on access to power. Before Trump, the pyramid was set. Now anyone really has a shot at getting pretty high up while starting from down below. I imagine the morals of these people will be quite low and it will be viscous.

If Trump loses, it becomes a question of how to proceed. The MAGA base is controlling the party. Any attempt to sway it back will not be tolerated, but Trump is getting too old, and he has a tendency to keep tiny circles of power. I'd imagine Ivanka would be his choice to succeed him. His sons are idiots. His daughter is objectively attractive and blonde which is 2 for 2 for the MAGA base. The GOP probably wouldn't love that BUT, if the base follows, Ivanka isn't that bright either and she becomes the useful idiot for whomever is holding the actual reins of power.

Relying heavily on Trump will make it difficult to maintain stability once Trump is no longer viable. The Republican Party is already in disarray, and a Trump loss would only intensify this. In fact, I’d argue it’s better for him to lose now rather than win another term, as the fallout would be even more severe with the party scrambling to fill the vacuum he leaves behind after a second presidency. Biden connected well with Obama supporters, while Kamala resonated with Biden’s base. Trump? Let’s just say there currently aren’t any Republican candidates who can rally the MAGA base quite like he can. To my knowledge, no efforts have been made to anticipate that.

Edit: They’d need Trump to essentially step aside and peacefully hand over the reins to the next Republican. But he won’t; he’ll keep stirring up division with his obnoxious commentary the entire time.

This is like a bad car accident on the freeway that has traffic backed up. As I slowly drive by the accident I'm afraid to look, but at some point I have to look.
Humans seem to get a guilty enjoyment out of wrecks. I see it in the MAGA movement. Burn it all down!
