Biden Pardons Hunter

Why should the 1/6ers be pardoned?
Because there is a lot of suspicion that the deep state was heavily involved with Jan 6. I posted a video earlier and Joe Rogan who explains it much better and detail than I can. You and others can dismiss Joe Rogan if you want, but there are a lot of people who agree with this sentiment right now.

Most of the rank and file of those agencies are probably honest but the people at the top are corrupt.
What in the world are you talking about? Are you trying to say that the meanie deep state people were the protesters? Some kind of false flag operation?
Yes. I'm not saying it personally, but yes that is what they are claiming. And sadly, this would not be the first time our government has been accused of a false flag just to help create trouble.
How about some evidence of said false-flag activity?? Because most of the allegations make no sense at all.
Pardoning people because of "suspicion"?
Kinda like overthrowing an election because of allegations? :hysterical:

At some point you have to concede that there is no truth that lies beyond some people's tolerance for cognitive dissonance. They flat out don't care that they make no sense and will keep offering more nonsense to justify it, no matter what.

In theory, an innocent person should not be afraid of the law since they should have nothing to hide. But in practice, everyone should be afraid of law and scrutiny since we are all breaking some kind of law (there are so many of them now) if the government wants to pursue ruining someone.

But that effect worked more in Biden's favor than Trump's because he was more experienced controlling the deep state.
And you're completely missing the point.

Yes, the justice system isn't perfect. The problem is that The Felon intends to weaponize it.
Both sides weaponize it. You don't think the law has been weaponized against Trump? Then you are not paying attention to 34 felonies for the same crime. Thankfully the voters recognized this even though you haven't.
If you do the same crime 34 times should you not be convicted for 34 crimes?
No. Using your logic, the police could say you should get 10 speeding tickets because their radar gun took 10 measurements before they pulled you over.
No. The problem is that he divided his crime into 34 pieces. The law is written such that the illegal action is making the false record. It's simply not possible to charge someone with one offense covering the 34 incidents.
So, is it more like he shoplifted 34 items from a store once or he shoplifted one item from a store 34 times? Are these equivalent scenarios in the law?

In this case, on 34 separate days he came and stole the same item.

Yes, you chose the latter of my options. But is this worse than stealing 34 of those items in one go? Would that be one charge of theft instead of 34 separate charges?

Okay let’s move on. Is raping one woman six times better or worse than raping six women one time?
Once that is settled, we can ask if trying to conduct one coup against The US Government Is better or worse than six coups. Then let’s get into stealing from charities, setting up fake universities, practicing racist rental discrimination…
Hoo boy. Prayza load for immunity!!

I guess that we’ll know after Trump is inaugurated. If they are deep state meanies, I’m sure Trump won’t pardon them. If they are right wingers (which they sure seemed RW to me); Trump will pardon them.

Depends on the jurisdiction and possibly on the value of the items. 34 petty larcenies could attract a lesser or greater sentence than one grand larceny...

I chose the latter because there's no labeled crime of committing the same act many times. You steal the same thing on 34 days, you're getting 34 charges. You won't get 34x the sentence, though, nor would The Felon have.

You are certainly right but I can't bring myself to push "like" when the correct response is "agree" but most certainly not like.

Republicans have already found a loophole claiming Biden's pardon prevents Hunter from taking the 5th if he is brought in for a future investigation. He can not be trialed for his crimes but he can be used as a witness.

But I do not see how this loophole is going to do the Republicans any good. Because even if Hunter can't take the 5th, I'm wondering what would prevent Hunter from taking the "I don't remember" Hillary defense? He could just sit there all day long like she did and claim he has no memory of anything.

But what do some of you legal scholars say?

But what do some of you legal scholars say?
I would say if you'd spent five minutes doing some basic research you'd have known Hunter Biden has always been willing to testify before congress.

I would also say most people are fed up with MAGAtard's bad faith arguments, especially from the likes of dishonest cunts like Jim Jordan, Comer and the guy you allegedly have never heard of, Gaetz.

Well, they first need to like... I don't know... come up with some specific crime or dealing to ask him about.

That is also a tried and true defense maneuver. It'll be harder if the GOP has an actual offense against the law to work with. At this point it is Burisma... and "Scandal!!!" At Burisma, he was likely too intoxicated to provide much access to the VP of the United States.

Please don't ask RVonse of specifics. You'll only receive a youtube video half an hour long full of innuendo and farcical implications. If you're lucky you might even get a time stamp.

There are consequences for that.
There HAVE BEEN consequences. More severe consequences than befall any other violators of that same law.
Trump has broken hundreds of laws that actually damage people - no consequences. That doesn’t seem to bother you. Hypocrisy?
the President broke his public word. Why should anyone believe him after this?
Most definitely certainly he changed his mind. Broke his word.
Trump breaks every fucking word he ever uttered. Doesn’t seem to bother you.
Hypocrisy?
Feel free to explain.
How many times do I have to say that Trump should not be president? He is unfit on so many levels for that office. I would not have voted for him in a pink fit.
Trump is a hypocrite is so many ways.
But that does not mean that Biden has not become one either.
You lot (and any other country for that matter) will never get of out the mud if pollies, public figures wallow in the mud and behave as bad as each other.
You can spot Trump's failings and hypocrisy from outer space but will not acknowledge the log in your own side's eyes.

You keep making proclamations but do not address the people who support Biden's decision and their reasons for doing so. Willful blindness is not a positive attribute.
You will complain to the cows come home that the Republicans cannot be trusted. They are feckless and faithless (and to console you they are behaving like that).
But that does not make it ok to excuse Biden when he breaks his public word.

Even if they are both bad they are demonstrably not “as bad as each other”.

@Tigers! I can't help noticing that when I asked
He knows he compromised himself, but that was better than watching his kid's entire life being destroyed when he was able to prevent that from happening. WWJD? What would YOU do?
your response was
Hunter broke the law(s) it seems.
I take it then, that you'd throw your offspring to the wolves and let the sadistic felonious apricot destroy his entire life for lying on a form after committing the sin of being the son of a man who beat The Felon in a landslide in 2020?
Hunter is a (ir)responsible moral agent. He broke the law. There will always be consequences. If the law is applied unevenly that is a problem with the application, not necessarily in the law itself.
Hunter put his father in an impossible situation. He is a caring father. But he gave his son favouarble treatment. Treatment that is not available to the 99.9999999999999% of those in the same position as Hunter.
The double standard is so obvious.
You cannot claim the moral high ground (which the Democrats and their barrackers on these fora do) and then do what your opponents do.
You will be considered as bad as each other.

I do not understand why Biden and his supporters are suprised that he is called a hypocrite.
He will need to accept that that particular charge is true.

But don't complain when the republicans continue to do the same. You have just restoked the fire.

What difference does that make? Its OK because we (Democrats) do it in a nicer way? Is that what you are claiming? Cholrea vs. diptheria? Both are bad. It better to have neither.
There is no sliding scale for hypocrisy.
