I can't work out whether it is a plane or a train.

It is an Airbus 330-300; The photographer is looking forward from the starboard side of the forward galley area between the Economy and Business class sections of the aircraft. The cabin crew are wearing Singapore Airlines uniforms.

Note that the crew get rear-facing seats and full four-point harnesses; the idea being that in a crash, the crew need to be fit to render assistance to anyone who is injured, while the passengers just need to survive.
