Mueller investigation

Who knows, maybe Kushner or Don, Jr. secretly plead guilty a week ago as well?

If that had happened, Fragilego Mussolini's head would have exploded.

One thing that is just beginning to be noticed is that while Manafort was only campaign manager for a relatively short time, Gates stayed on with the campaign. Even worked on the inaugural committee. And the indictment is broad regarding the timeline of activities, including during the campaign.

I'd expect more to be coming soon.

Oh boy! Things don't look good.

Spokesman for Rick Gates said:
Rick Gates pled ‘Not Guilty’ today. He welcomes the opportunity to confront these charges in court. He is not going to comment further until he has had a chance to review the lengthy indictment with his legal team. In the meanwhile, he would appreciate you respecting his and his family’s privacy as they weather this unexpected and hasty proceeding designed to accommodate perhaps political and press considerations rather than his right to have counsel of his choice by his side during this most troubling and challenging day for him and his loved ones. This fight is just beginning.
Notice a word missing in that statement?

deny

A thought. Will Trump be a Nixon, with plumbers, enemy lists and other activities like this?

Or will he be an Agnew, taken down by a tawdry little scandal? Agnew took kickbacks and did not report them or pay taxes and was busted for tax fraud because of that.

Or maybe Trump will do a Saturday Night Massacre type stunt that goes beyond the pale and takes him down.
Place your bets now.

He already committed obstruction when he fired Comey.

A campaign aide has already admitted to trying to get information stolen from a political rival by an unfriendly government and then lying about it to Congress. This is already approaching Nixon-era crimes. The real question is, I think, will Trump's attempts to obstruct justice by derailing the investigation bring him down?

Manafort and Gates plead not guilty.

From Huckabee Sanders: “He responded the same way the rest of us in the White House have and that is without a lot of reaction because it doesn’t have anything to do with us.”

Yeah, I'm certain he was stone faced and went on with his day. All we do know is that he lost his phone.
Definitely the plea is the big news. It's absolute confirmation that there was collusion between the campaign and the Russian government.

I think that Mueller is playing a careful game of chess here. Showing that someone flipped a month ago brings up the question of who else may have secretly flipped to save their own ass. Hopefully it will inspire others to flip as well.

I definitely think someone should plant that bug in Trump's ear. Mr. Paranoia will go bezzerk!

Of course they pleaded NG. They need to know what they're looking at. Now the prosecution has to provide their defense attorneys with everything they have, including any exculpatory information. Once Manafort and Gates know what they're dealing with, they can then cop plea deals and spill beans.

Releasing the info regarding Papadopolous ensures they'll do just that.

While this has been a tremendous justice buzz, we now get to sit back and wait for months and months and months while their defense attorneys pour over this shit and drag it out to the nth degree allowed.

With this Congress... the only thing to bring him down is if he vetoes the "tax reform" bill.

He'd sign a piece of used toilet paper at this juncture. And call it the Greatest WIN Ever.

Well, based on his legislative accomplishments so far, that actually would be his biggest win.

Custard is poured over. Documents are pored over. [/grammarnazi]

Whiskey is poured (and consumed) over discussions like those...

The weather is getting a bit windy to contain this brush fire.

Manaford is trained KGB, he wont flip...
He doesn't need to flip on Russia, just Trump. Russia doesn't care about Trump, they've already gotten what they wanted out of that meatbag.

Expect Cheetolini to pardon those involved, shortly...
Can't pardon without conviction.

Ford pardoned Nixon.

Trump is strangely silent since his attempt to distance himself from Manafort this morning, alleging that 2006 through 2017 is "a long time ago".
What happened Donny Boy? Someone take your phone away and replace it with a piece of cardboard?

Maybe Kellyanne taped his fingers shut. Might have done him some good if she'd done that a while ago.

Accepting a pardon carries an admission of guilt.

That plea is probably the bigger news. As shown in Ziprhead's post, one of the details in the court documents indicates a senior campaign manager wanted to send some low level campaign person to Russia so as to keep anyone from noticing.

Definitely the plea is the big news. It's absolute confirmation that there was collusion between the campaign and the Russian government.

If nothing else, the possibility will eat away at Trump like dung beetles on dung.
