Trump falls!! Hurt too

:boohoo:

Also, when you make comments like “DEI hire,” we all know what that is. It’s the politically correct code phrase among the alt-right to make a blatantly racist comment. Because we all know what it means. ANY black man or woman or person of color who is hired for ANYTHING automatically is characterized as a “DEI hire.”
You can't praise DEI with one side of your mouth and then disparage those who point out that you are engaging in hiring by race and gender rather than merit.

Take Kamala Harris. Biden pledged early on that he will only consider female candidates for his running mate. Then, due to George Floyd riots, he was pressured to pick a black woman. KH was very obviously a DEI pick. You lefties loudly praise and support DEI.
Then why do you so vociferously object to DEI picks being referred to as DEI picks?

Example:
Opinion: Calling Kamala Harris a ‘DEI hire’ is what bigotry looks like
This is from CNN, but similar articles were published by MSNBC and others. It's nonsense. If you support DEI, don't call people bigots for pointing that out. If Dems don't want to be called out for picking people for powerful positions based on race and gender, they should not do that.

Utter and total bullshit. What makes you think Kamala Harris is without merit, other than the fact that she is black and a woman?
Take Kamala Harris. Biden pledged early on that he will only consider female candidates for his running mate.

And there are tons of qualified women and so that was a good thing he did, since women, people of color, gays, and other minorities have been systematically excluded from positions of responsibility and authority since the founding of the republic.

Then, due to George Floyd riots, he was pressured to pick a black woman. KH was very obviously a DEI pick.

She was very obviously a QUALIFIED pick who happens to be black and a woman.
You lefties loudly praise and support DEI.

You betcha, MAGA hat wearer.
Then why do you so vociferously object to DEI picks being referred to as DEI picks?

Because they are QUALIFIED. That’s your game — to dismiss ALL minorities who are hired as DEI. The implicit thesis is manifest — white, male, cisgendered heterosexuals are SUPERIOR.

It is spot on.

If the person is qualified, there is no reason to point out they were a “dei” pick. So the pointing out the chosen is the result of “ dei” in the absence of a compelling argument about the lack of qualifications can reasonably construed as sloppy or stupid or mean- spirited in general or racist or misogynist depending on the context. In the context of Ms Harris, racist snd misogynist is a reasonable conclusion in the absence of a compelling argument, even if turns out to be in error.

Let’s be clear: The REAL meaning of. “DEI hire,” properly construed without the obvious racist content of MAGAts, is that a QUALIFIED person of color, woman, gay, trans, what have you, is able to compete and get hired on equal footing with white, hetero, cisgendered men. MAGAts have repurposed the meaning to their own bigotry, as I pointed out, because their message is THAT THERE ARE NO QUALIFIED MINORITIES.

Meanwhile, in the real world, the vast majority of the agents, and especially the police were white males, one of whom backed down from the shooter instead of going in there with his gun drawn while calling it in.

The shooter was also a white male conservative.

This is all about white males, not women and Blacks. And gun culture.

The white male conservative's father was a white male Libertarian who owned 20 guns. And the shooter was a member of a gun club and failed to get on the rifle team at his school. He was an angry white male conservative outcast who was bullied and had access to 20 guns and bomb-making material.

Thats actually a good message. Campaign against the gun culture that attacked Trump.

Sadly I believe it more likely that Trump will side with these folks initially, instead trying to turn such shooters as a faction over to his side.

The police have demonstrated incompetence against them, which is not a good look for anyone.

I appreciated Steve Shive's rant at the end here. I am not very optimistic that the "Left" is going to be as sensible as he hopes it will be, though.

The widow of Corey Comperatore, the heroic volunteer firefighter killed while shielding his family during the shooting at a Donald Trump campaign rally, said that the former president has not reached out to the grieving family.

The silence from Trump contrasts with an attempted call from President Joe Biden, which the Comperatore family declined. Helen Comperatore, speaking from her home in Sarver, Pennsylvania, told the New York Post in an exclusive interview, "I didn't talk to Biden. I didn't want to talk to him," adding, "My husband was a devout Republican and he would not have wanted me to talk to him."
Trump went golfing.

New reports say the shooter was interrupted prior to firing by a police officer trying to climb onto the roof. The shooter briefly aimed at him to make him retreat, then opened fire. It’s very likely that being rushed affected his aim.

Everything coming out about security indicates a total clown show.
Sort of expected after over 40 years since the last attempt on a President/former President. A ton of false negatives. I'm wondering how many other events they'll review as well.

This is what DEI hires lead to.
Amazing that this is where the alt-right wing minds immediately go towards.

I guess there’s a lot of DEI going on in that neck of the woods. Perimeter security is the responsibility of local LE, and site security is up to the campaign. (Not much DEI THERE!) USSS is responsible for personal protection of presidential candidates at taxpayers' expense, not for the security of the venues hosting the circus.

This needs to be a bigger story. It’s disgusting!

It's not true, though. Not the golfing part, that is. I can easily believe the family's testimony, but the thing about Trump going golfing was an internet to-do.

Even if the golf isn’t true the fact that he didn’t call the widow of his own supporter who was killed at his rally is disgusting enough.

Jason, pay attention. Thomas Crooks' dad was a registered Libertarian and had legally purchased the gun that his son used. IOW, if you are looking to brand this as an act inspired by political ideology, this one came from your clubhouse. The shooter was wearing a T-shirt with the logo from a radical pro-gun YouTube site, not a Che Guevara T-shirt.

So his dad bought the firearm. Did his dad say "go out and shoot that person" when he did so? Did his dad pull the trigger?

It wasn’t a Democrat
It wasn’t an immigrant
It wasn’t an LGTBQ
It wasn’t an African American
It wasn’t an Atheist

No.

He was white.
He was straight.
He was Christian.
He was a registered Republican who once, when he was 17, more than 3 years ago donated $15 to a large anti- conservative PAC.
FIFY.

There's meat for both sides to chew on, and which of those two points you focus on to the exclusion of the other shows your own political bias in commenting on this story.
Fixed that more accurately for ya.
There’s meat for one side to chew on, and crumbs in the footwell for the other side.
Thank you for proving my point about "which of those two points you focus on to the exclusion of the other shows your own political bias.".
