The Race For 2024

Well. that's it all over. Despite everything that went on, the full weight of the MSM behind Harris, the bogus trials and lawsuits, the underhanded tactics to try to keep Trump off the ticket in certain states, the accusations of dementia, he's a crook, he's a nazi, he's a rapist, he's a racist, he's a misogynist etc, Trump was swept into power on a red wave.

Let that sink in, Trump, despite his obvious flaws was preferred over Harris. By quite a wide margin too.
Nobody pays attention to the infotainment media. The big money put all their money into the algorithms and FOX and it shows. I just watched one JRE podcast on youtube and now my feed is swamped with similar bullshit. And never forget that NBC made Trump with their scripted fake show "The Apprentice". Don't for a second think that those infotainment profit machines aren't in the tank for him.

So Harris was up by 3 points in Iowa. Trump won there by 14 points. Polls all over the country came out wrong, although wrong in the opposite direction from what I hoped for.

Polls today suck.
Click bait and social engineering suck.

When Biden-Harris won in 2020, was it over?

Or are you just assuming that their supporters are more peaceful and rules following than Trump followers? More patriotic?
You know they are.

I guess not judging by the outcome.

I very much doubt that.

Looks like we can add Biden to the list of people he's left unpaid after doing all the work.

Ann Selzer isn't clickbait. She killed it in '16 and '20. She is the gold standard in Iowa for polling.

She pulled a Casey at Bat it seems in '24. I wish that poll had never come out.

Hmm, well, technically he acts like a brand more than a person, so maybe he could actually get away with the whole 'I’m not a person' I'm a brand loophole?

"The only poll that counts is the one on the (election) day" - Malcolm Fraser, former Aus. PM.

Why do we put so much faith in polls? You cannnot tell if the respondents have answered honestly. At best they can show trends but that is not guaranteed.

Huh??? When did this happen?

The media was constantly sanewashing for Trump, not reporting his insanities and reporting "what he really meant", while expecting Harris to be perfect in every way.

That and young people not paying much attention to real news and getting their news from Tic Toc and Instagram.

I've been saying all along the polls suck.

Plenty of time to destroy the 2 term limit. I reckon that’ll be done by 2027.

It will be removed not destroyed.
The 22nd amendement was added and so it can be removed or amended.
Not realistically going to happen:

An amendment may be proposed by a two-thirds vote of both Houses of Congress, or, if two-thirds of the States request one, by a convention called for that purpose. The amendment must then be ratified by three-fourths of the State legislatures, or three-fourths of conventions called in each State for ratification.

Poor color choice. I was confused at first.

Someone made a poor colour choice, but it was the US of A, not the Europeans. The left wing is always coloured in red, and the right wing in blue.

Just as temperatures are always measured in Celcius, and distances in Metres...

:diablotin:

And if they were showing results from a European election i would concede that point.

They really should have had Trump in orange... for obvious reasons.

So Montana and Arizona pass abortion referendum and then elect the party that killed Roe v Wade and are in close proximity to ban abortion all together. Almost as if the average American voter (black women aside) are "fucking stupid" when it comes to politics.
They CAN'T ban abortion all together. SC's decision was that it's a state matter; the only way Reps could push for an abortion ban would be a constitutional amendment. And there's no way that will get ratified.
