The Second Debate Thread

Anyone catch Trump calling Clinton "The Devil"?
He evaded the question but when pressed the third or so time I'm pretty sure he said that he did not do it. The press and blog-sphere will be all over it if he didn't.
Fuck, you are correct. Now it is time for the sluice gates to open.

Also he lost his cool by asking why Anderson didn't ask about emails.

Something to take into account was Trump was all over the place talking about anything with any question and roaming a lot. So people may take that negatively, but I doubt it. They don't understand Syria. We'll see. Clinton didn't attack too hard, I think she'll let others do it this week.

Noticed at debate end, Trump met his wife (for the moment), touched her hips, no hug.
Nothing new came out tonight so it isn't going to change anyone's mind. Anyone who hasn't made up their mind yet isn't going to be convinced either way, either.
Yeah. Waste of time. Some of the questions asked by the Town Hall group were fucking stupid. Name one good trait of your opponent, is this General Election too mean?, can you be devoted to all Americans? FFS!

Trump's response on the Muslim question, 'Fuck, you are on your own.'

I didn't catch who is commenting at the moment, but whoever it is just said what I want to hear: that Trump sucked, but did just well enough to stave off a complete GOP meltdown tomorrow.

I want him in the race. I just want it to be limping from far behind, not out of the race altogether.

I'm curious, why would you not want him out completely? They can't get rid of him as a candidate now.

I think anything could happen in the next month, and the conservative opposition is swelling against him.

What I don't want is for Trump to be replaced by a Republican who is just as much of a backward, misogynist, zealous bigot as Trump but much more practiced in pretending to not be a backward, misogynist, zealous bigot and therefore be more appealing to conservative voters. I don't want to see Trump replaced by someone the Bush family would support.

Anderson should have asked about the emails? Why didn't he since this is a big issue.

Syria is very simple. First of all coming from a military family, the element of surprise is the key issue. Rarely is it necessary to announce weeks in advance of an attack unless it is a deception because another target has been selected. 4-6 weeks gives the leadership at least to leave first and then sometimes be followed by others.

Syria is a US created mess which has now allowed ISIS and other allied groups to gain a foothold in that country too. The US and Russia should cooperate more on resolving this issue. Russia has its faults in human rights etc but it is also a potential ally in this conflict.

Also the US debt is out of control and rose even more sharply under Obama (hence Obama Care and Obama Debt).

The last question was good in that they were asked to find good points about each other

By default I would select Trump if I were a US citizen but only because

1. One is worse than the other
2. The American Communist Party didn't put up a candidate.

He really doesn't want to answer a question about his self-discipline

Most men don't as our brains are in our trousers. There again Bill was a naughty boy , but in his case he was so likable he was able to get away with such things and win an election.

Trump's a millionaire so I am sure he's had lots of opportunities to misbehave.

Hilary's job at the time was to try and make these things go away.
The key issues were clouded over even though in part mentioned.

The National Debt. Not discussed
Obamacare. Good in principle but has added billions to the debt. The US should seek advice from Cuba and Ghadaffi's previous ministers on how to provide 100% free health care that is affordable for the state. Sounds loony tune and no doubt unpopular but a bit of research is worthwhile.

Syria. The US should not have gone in there in the first place
Libya is a disaster which Hilary should not have taken credit for so early in the overthrow of Ghadaffi.
Russia. The US and Russia have a common goal against terrorism and I think the US should make the first move. (They moved their missiles out of Cuba a long time ago).
Tax. If big corporations are taxed it will stifle growth and they will move to countries like China where tax incentives are very low.
At the same time individuals should not be highly taxed at the expense of Big companies getting more breaks.

I'm pretty sure that with that last answer Trump came down on the side of Russia, Iran, and Assad.

Just like the US election is choosing the least undesirable. If the US had not interfered in the first place it would have saved billions of dollars and not created the mayhem we now have while allowing ISIS, Al Qaeda and others to gain a foothold.

OK, we get it - You hate America and want the worst possible President to be in the Whitehouse.

Vote for Trump or vote for communism, makes sense.

The Americans are already choosing between the 2 least worst. So bad in fact that the communists seem credible. :)

Vote for communist rather than Clinton or Trump. In reality it couldn't work as the communists only have around 2,000 members nationwide. Hence regional conventions could be held in a telephone booth (saving campaign money).

Vote for Trump or vote for communism, makes sense.

Given what communism morphed to in the USSR and other countries, it is the same thing - a dictatorship

In Russia Communism collapsed then highly predatory capitalism replaced it and still does.

There is no conflict between predatory capitalism and dictatorship.

Just as in China there is no conflict between capitalism and totalitarianism.

There is no connection between democracy or freedom and capitalism.

If those things exist they exist despite capitalism, not because of it.

I'm surprised that the morning pundits aren't making a bigger fuss about Trump threatening to put his opponent in prison. That's very disturbing. It's dictator talk. Naturally all the Trump lackeys are praising Trump for his performance in the debate. Gasp. That idiot Pence is on MSNBC right now saying how proud he is of Trump. Gag. Gag. Gag.

It is surprising.

Trump is basically saying he will be using his power to go after his political rivals.

In the open. Without shame.

And the corporate media doesn't seem to comprehend the significance.

Could it be that corporate leaders like the practice? Could it be because they are tiny little fascists commanding their small but powerful dictatorships?

His facial expressions are similar to Mussolini.

He is trying to intimidate.

It is an expression of how his words about women reflect deep convictions.

Many men talk crudely about women.

A few use their power to fondle and harass them.
